Mids were a quite dominant force in pryd rvr before this mass ban move... now they are losing their edge, but I doubt if the ban involved too many prydwen players. Why? Because 100 accounts total, including french, german, italian, spanish players, dedicated PVP fans, etc. Say it might meant 15 account for prydwen, maybe some uses 14 days trial accounts and separate net connection for radar, and it can't be traced to main account. (don't know if it is possible)

Oh, if you read EULA they say you can't run a free daoc server for other people. Why they have to add this to eula? Because there are several projects on major open source sites that develop free daoc servers, for this they analyse packets the same way as radar does, but for a different purpose. Who knows how many DoL devs are on the list? How many radar developers on "throwaway" accounts?

On the bright side, if from a group 2 used radar and got banned, the whole fg and their buffbots will become ineffective, which can increase the impact of this. A lot of people might either start to play without aid of cheats and cheaters, or simply lose their edge / quit game.

Hope they have banned radar users etc, and that the detection system is not like anti virus software and disk defragmentation programs. They look pretty on screen with lots of lickle squares being moved around. but how do we know they are actually doing anything? Could all be a bluff but I hope not

Also, ever wondered why anti virus software houses have a patch ready the next day to combat the latest virus? Possibly cos they wrote the cure at the same time as they wrote the virus? Woo, conspiracy theory on a self perpetuating industry <cue twighlight zone music>
