Whenever I join #bwadmins, ^barry^ sets me to mode +v

Whats this all about then? Some guy called wils (a tribes 2 admin) said he thought the server might be mistaking me for Narcisuss.

Does +v give me special powers? Will I be able to fight with super duper sumo strength? Will I be able to destroy sh33p with the flick of a mouse button?

Actually. It fives you the power to talk IF the room is set to mode +m (moderated). This means that only @ and + can speak.

All the +v in #bwadmins signifies is that your an admin - its just used to distinguish them in the list of channel users so that someone requiring help knows they are speaking to an admin and not some random idler.

Btw - please dont idle randomly in #bwadmins

er I have extremely limited knowledge of irc but if you do /msg ^Barry^ Hello I think that ^Barry^ will reply with the ident of who it thinks you are. You can then pester them

like someone mentioned earlier, people shouldnt identify to ^barry^ with stupid hosts, if ur an admin u should use the vhost. that way ^barry^ can be as silly as he likes but without a @public.admin.etc or @game.liason.etc you wont get shit

and if u are an admin, and you dont use the vhost dont be surprised if you get kicked from #bwadmins for being idle. unless ur one of the annoying ppl who get their +v from ^barry^ under a stupid host.

i myself only ever use the vhost cause it hides my real ip, except from scary ppl like Deathace
