BW TFC server configs.

I have noticed that there is a worrying trend with Net servers for TFC where the tfc_balance_scores cvar is enabled by default, even on "Elite" servers. I can't even understand the need for it on Newbie or Intermediate servers, never mind servers meant for veterans of the game. It is an unfair server variable in that any team that is doing a very good job in attack and gains a significant lead over the enemy team is heavily penalised in the form of having their damage reduced and the enemies damage increased.

This usually results in single hit rocket kills against attacking meds and scouts or 1 rocket+gren for an attacking soldier. Highly unfair. Any chance of having it disabled? at least on the Elite servers?

Quite often you'll get a game with a load of better players on one team and a bunch of newbies/muppets on the other. The poor muppet gets killed as soon as the l33t player has clapped eyes on 'em.

These games normally end up going completely downhill with the muppets either leaving one by one or giving up and grabbing a sniper rifle to shoot mr l33t or failing that, a fellow team member.

Balancing attempts to even out the teams abilities to make for a more balanced game. The only bugger is when a l33t player on the muppets team meets fellow l33t player on the l33t team, and a mere glancing thwack with his crowbar sends gibs into the middle of next week.

Personally I haven't noticed that much of a difference but then thats probably because I am Lord TFC (or that l33t player on the muppet side  )

I know what you're saying Koppo, and obviously it makes sense to have score balancing, and team balancing turned off for clan matches.
For public servers though, the teams vary throughout the half hour of a map, and at least score balancing give new players who join the loosing side half a chance to make a comeback.
If the score get close, it makes the game exciting, instead of a walkover for one side.

As for turning it off for just the elite, in my experience, the names of the servers has made little difference to who plays where. Most people don't care what the name is, they just join a busy server.
