Its been a while since I’ve had to do it so...

I’ve bought my son a gaming PC for his birthday. 6 core i5. 32GB RAM. GTX1060 6GB. 240GB SSD.

No OS though.

What’s the best way to get Win10 64 bit cheap these days?

Buy it from Microsoft...

I wouldn't trust buying cheap keys etc it's not worth it.

I wasn't thinking eBay :)

Isn't there a place to get legit OEM version for cheap?

I think I have bought 'keys' online in the past successfully, but more recently I've just gone legit...

Think I used a croatin reseller - gold certified partner. Cost me about 50 quid IIRC.

Even full price it's money well spent. Couple of trips to the cinema with the o/h and some popcorn...

If you have a legit Win7, just upgrade for free to 10. Easy.

Buy an OEM license (normally included in OEM machine bundles) and you effectively become the manufacturer of your own PC. No support obviously if you ever encounter hardware/activation issues, and it's linked to that device (usually motherboard).
Retail allows you to migrate the license to other PCs as time goes on.

Or 5 pink mice from the pick and mix.

I've bought a couple from softwaregeeks for VM's. Not had a problem so far.

I would say buy the Win 7 and upgrade to 10. That way it's Microsoft upgrading your license to a new one for 10 and it's also a cheap punt if you're not sure.

I checked, and my Win 10 came from softwarelicense4u.com ... no issues experienced, was a tad over 20 quid FYI.

Keys are that cheap on grey market sites because they are not acquired legally. They are selling retail keys they bought using stolen cards.

That's why they are being sold on dodgy grey market sites instead of for example Ebay.
