Burning with Nero - Not enough space

Using Nero regrade, selected 4 (home made ) movies the software did its thing and says it will need a 4.7GB DvD.

Two hours later after the transcoding has done it throws up an error saying the writeable media inst big enough (its a 4.7GB DvD) nice waste of 2hrs there. I just cant get around this problem.

Tried doing a firmware upgrade on the DVD writer - which went ok, but still have the problem - any ides ?

do you get the choice of doing 1-pass or 2-pass encoding?

might be that you're only doing 1-pass, and it estimates the required bitrate incorrectly or sommit like that?

if so, try doing 2-pass and it might turn out okay.

Are the disks good? I have had that the disk says 4.7 on the front but free space is only 4.6 or similar try the disk info button at the bottom.
