Nasty :(

What did they get? Police any use or just doing the "here's a crime number for your insurers" bit?

Laptop, 2 Xboxes, a PS2, Digital camera and a little portable TV, and some DVDs. Scary thing is, my housemate was sat in the back garden when they got in. Police have taken prints, but I'm not hopeful. SOCO guy said he was attending the fourth burglarly in my area that night (and it was only 8pm!), and he reckoned that it wasn't a particularly busy night...:(

So now I have to double lock my front door when I'm in the house. What a fucking world...

Same happened to a friend of mine. But the police got everything back for him. Good luck in getting your stuff back!

I remember someone rifling through my car and cutting up the parcel shelf with a knife. Fair enough its not my home, but it was a truly horrible feeling, with the added sense of rage that there was nothing I could do about it.

How did they get in?

well at least you know you're crap.

Gaffer: how did your mate not notice if he was out the back? I think it's certainly time for lethal boobie traps. Electrified piano wire at neck height could prove to be a good detterent?

Friend of mines dad got burgled three times within 6 months, on the last occasion they beat him up as well.

Police caught the last lot, they had done quite a few burglaries and got put down for a few years. Should be like 10 years though.

Your phrasing was correct even if it's not what you meant.

And let's make it electrocution not some namby pamby lethal injection.

Door was on the Yale lock, police reckon they can get in really easily with something like an ice cream lid! Either that or wire and string through the letter box.

He was smoking cigarettes and playing his GBA. Its not that surprising with the layout of my house that he didn't hear. Plus, tbh, I've got a houseful at the mo' (my parents are staying while my Dad has medical treatment), so if he heard a noise he might assume its my Mum or something. Scared the crap out of him when he wandered back in and saw what had happened.

Read down to the "controversy" bit - it is suspected that some of those who suffer this method of execution are left merely paralysed whilst some muscle-relaxant slowly makes them suffocate to death - over a period of 40 minutes. Ah.

I just KNEW someone would end up replying with something like this.

Ok, "electrocution, or suffocation by lethal injection, not a quick and clean snap of the neck from hanging". You get the idea/intent, right ?

Well it's your own trick, so you would know. I was just elaborating a bit anyway ... I never made any judgement on the method of execution.

If you want my personal opinion (you're getting it anyway) it is that a death penalty should be used to remove someone from a society, not used as a form of punishment. Revenge is primitive, worthless, pointless.

Bugger for you DaGaffer.....as for the moderate bunch it tends to be the result of one brain cell taking a trip without the others knowing ;)

Via actual bodily harm, if not grievious.

If we had the deterrents in place preventing these lowlives from burgling people's homes instead of the soft liberal approach letting burglars off with a few hours community service or sending them to some holiday camp called prison for a few months, then maybe burglary wouldn't be so epidemic.

I hope the thread starter manages to get his property back or at least some of it.

I think America has proven that deterrents don't work.

Im not sure it has Nath. I was under the impression that per capita there were less house burglerys in the USA than over here ?
We really need to understand the burglers rights a bit more in my opinion ...

I was talking crime in general, I've not looked at specific burglary statistics.

The same belief exists in most criminals whether it be murders or burglars....it's is the notion that they won't get caught.

Key gun opens a yale lock in a couple of seconds - only good to keep random kids out - no good v anyone who actually wants in.
