well, morons who voted for him deserve all the misery they will get in the coming years
I just hope he just lumps all his mistakes onto the people living in london rather than businesses and people using public transport

Just annoying the rest of us have to suffer too

I never asked who you voted for! I have worked for the entire labour term so I have a valid opinion on how labour have been. Most of the wannabee's have no fucking idea about working under labour. thats my point. (cant be arsed with punctuation)

what exactly has that got to do with Livingstone,
he came into power as a independant, and more than likely didnt do what labour said anyway
The lack of active support of the party paints a pretty clear picture to that effect

I have a feeling people, such as yourself, voted against him just because you dont like labour irrespective of who was the better candidate for mayor of london

You are very close to the mark, although I could NOT vote in London as I moved out a few years ago I would have voted against anyone who stood for the Labour party. We the people have been raped enough.

tbh, the comments in this thread show exactly why this country is such a mess
It saddens me that people aren't able to seperate national and local politics and would vote for the worse candidate and suffer for 4 years just to proove a point, when they could just vote properly in the general election

Ow well 4 years to see how much he can f*** up

Hawkwind got a room for rent? i think its time to jump ship before it sinks

Thing is ... yes the world economy is screwed. All to do with some legal credit scam that the banks of the world were up too from what I can see.
Yes..... fuel prices are through the fucking roof but thats not Browns fault. Take that up with OPEC.
Gas prices are through the roof because there is a shortage. Thats not Browns fault.
Lot of our electricity comes from gas fired generators so electricity is through the roof. Thats not Browns fault.
Yes food prices are higher because there is a world shortage of grain. Thats not Browns fault.
Immigration rates are high but its illegall to restrict workers movements within the European Union. Take that up with Brussels. Thats not Browns fault.

Lets look at the things Gordon Brown has control over.

Unemployment. Much lower than under the previous conservative government.
Funding for the NHS.Much higher than under the previous conservative government.
Funding for the Police. Much higher than under the previous conservative government.
Funding for the Armed Forces. Whether you agree with the wars is a mute point. They still need the money now we are fighting them. Much higher than under the previous conservative government.
Interest rates. Yes the bank of England sets them but do you think that is done without consultation with the Government? Much lower than under the previous conservative government.
The value of the Pound. Much higher than under the previous conservative government.
Crime levels are pretty much static. And a damn sight lower than under the previous conservative government.

For the people who can remember. HOW FUCKING BAD WAS THE COUNTRY UNDER THE LAST CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT ?????

Its easy as the opposition to just moan your tits off about everything. The Tories offer no solutions .... just moan about everything the Labour government does. They appear blameless. They appear on television moaning about the same stuff we do. So it SEEMS like they are listening to OUR problems.

Most of you wont remember because you are all too young but..... the Thatcher years were a fucking nighmare. And the Conservatives still regard her as one of the finest leaders they ever had. If she is their finest how fuckin bad is the twat they got now?

and this is different from red ken how?

i like boris johnson, i dont think he's a puppet because he says too many controvercial things, if he were being manipulated then his speeches would all be prefectly turned out by well practiced spin doctors (look at blair).

and tbh even if he does screw things up you can guarentee he'll make us laugh along the way ;)

Honest question: Isnt the reason the "Thatcher years" were so bad due to the fact that the previous labour government had fuxed things up?

From what I've read she made some pretty ballsy moves to restore the country in what was going to be a pretty bad time no matter who was in power, she made a couple of wrong calls but overall was a very strong leader and in the end made the country alot stronger for her time in power... am I wrong here? just a question - not saying I know better than anyone else here :)

Ok mate heres the answers to your questions.

She ended the manufacturing base of Britain so that we could have the " Financial" capitol of Europe.
Basiclly she traded off the Car, steel, coal, shipbuilding, foundries and all our other heavy industries in an agreement with France and Germany so that we could have the City of London finacial district.
This resulted in mass unemployment. In return we got wankers in red braces driving Porsche's. The Germans pretty much took the lot because now Frankfurt is almost as big as the City of London stock exchange. They still have their car industry. And their coal, shipbuilding, steel and other heavy industries.
Her cuts in defense spending led directly to the Falklands war. Intellegence reports ment she knew the Falklands were about to be invaded but did nothing about it.
She sold all the profit making Government institutions. She privatised them. This ensured that she could prop up her failing fiscal policies. This ment that wankers in red braces got even richer while the rest of us tax payers had to foot the bill.
There was absolutly no stability in the economy. Record inflation. Record interest rates. Record unemployment. Record levels of civil unrest and riots.
All this at a time when we had the benifit of hugh monetary income from North Sea oil. That just shows how incompetant her government was. When it should have been a boom time for Britain ..... we went bust.
You think the NHS is bad now? Should have tried it when that bitch was in charge.
But the one thing I will never forgive her for is when she stood on telly taking credit for victory in the Falklands when it was her that had cost over 300 British lives because of her incompetance.
She repeatedly changed the bounderies on election wards to ensure she stayed in power. Thats the sort of stuff we condemn Robert Mugabi for.

Ahh, politics - blame the goverment in charge for everything by forgetting why they are in that situation(the goverment before them) and when they finally are starting to get control - the power shifts and the dickheads who ruined it are back in power.
