Okay ...

This is getting REALLY boring to hear the same old whines all day long.

"You have a buffbot.. You cheat. You only pwnz cause u have a buffbot."

If u REALLY have a problem with buffbots .. Reroll a char u CAN actually solo with ( cause only classes that REALLY can solo use buffbots)
and get a second account for a bot yourself.

Don't whine cause youre a NS or caster or whatever that gets ownd by a buffed assasin / minstrel or whatever...

Thing is .. if YOU got owned solo.. and you werent buffed.. It's YOUR own fault. This game is designed around grouping. and Group RvR.

So Solo players with buffbots are actually pretty smart. Picking off the dumbass people that run around solo in RvR areas... thinking they can pwnz or are L337.

Only reason eg. Alpha and other non-hibs pharm so much in emain is because of dumb people who think they can solo to emain without a group, and no buffs.

Hibs give rpts away. Sad, but true.

It's a vicious circle, people get buffbots to solo against people who have buffbots. You're welcome to use your buffbot, as is Alpha to use his, that won't stop me from thinking they lame though. Buffbots give players a unfair advantage, both in groups and solo. If buffbots really make such a little difference, then why do people insist on using them?

What's even funnier, is to see a certain nameless *cough*scout*cough*, suddenly become very pro buffbots, now that he has one of his own.

Hibs dont giv away rpts... not more than other realms do at least, and mostly those whines come from ppl who tries going to crim/emain (to join sum1) and gets picked by buffed soloers on the way, and obviously gets pissed.

Big BIG problem is when "am so glad a have a buffbot"-posts come to those forums... "every1 should get a buffbot" is WRONG WRONG WRONG omg

sadly, buffbots are within the rules of the game, hence possible and something we must live with. (I use one myself on a regular basis so feel free to call me a hypocrit).

Agreed that its pointless whining about buffbots...until mythic decide to do something about it (range for buffs?) then it won't change. However, got to pick you up on a couple of points.

Firstly, not everyone has the option of getting a buffbot, as you need either a second pc or to run daox to do it.

Secondly, it's kind of lame when an assassin character that is buffed can beat an unbuffed tank 1v1 just because he happens to have a buffbot. In effect it makes it 2v1. (Though personally it's only happened to me once - most times I can scrape through).

The game IS designed around grouping, it ISN'T designed for solo players using 2 accounts to give them an advantage over those who aren't fortunate enough to have that. And to be perfectly honest, when I see posts about JonnyandhisBuffbot getting to RR10, I can't help but thinking shame he couldn't do it on his own - seems to make it a hollow achievement imho.

So anyways, no point in whining cos it ain't going to change, but had to make the point that buffbots simply aren't a-good-thing.

Wot else can I do?! (yes I´m here ) Some of our guild member got 15k rps yesterday in 45-60 min in guild rvr grp, but that´s pretty RARE event hehe.

I agree with Lofff, buff bot is not the solution, but if everybody has got one, Orla (wasn´t buffed yesterday in DL), Anarki (da old one), Natael (used to run unbuffed but no longer does that), etc were those few ppl who don´t/didn´t play with buff bot, but it´s damn rare!

Solo class no longer exist in game unless buff botted, hell dying 3 hits (+ DOT) by a SZ or 5-6 hits by an infil without ANY chance of hitting back (too fast dying or enhanced AF + baseline AF= me hitting like a girl) really sux big time.

Buffbots are unfair ... no .. sure if u try and solo and 3 buffed infils jumped u .. then u get p/o. but no..

I have a bot .. I use it to fight crime in the gorge .... I enjoy soloing .. that why i ROLLED a ranger .. and endured the painful leveling process... just to get nerfed .. no thx.

I have alot of fun still .. isn't that what the games about ? If me getting a buffbot ruins some lonely unbuffed assasins life .. i aint gonna lose any sleep over it .

what was the tank doing all on his own in the first place ? TRYING to solo emain ? or wherever ? who's fault is that ? LOL

I think if you go somwhere else than Emain it's no problem soloing without buffs. I have spent much time in Odin's lately and had a good time. Last nigth I took a swing to Emain with Lesbos and got flattened first by Remi then by Norpan without having any chance at all. Later on I got buffs from a buffbot and soloed a lvl 50 inf that had IP and Fa2 (Lesbos is CB).

That said, solo unbuffed RP suck's compared to grp, so I'd rather choose buffed and in grp , but still it's so fun going around alone .

I still solo occasionally without buffs, although my flute has a self 75 str//con buff which helps a bit.

Everyone knows buffbots spoil the game, except the people who use them they just want an unfair advantage over those who don't have bots.

Getting from atk to amg sometimes you gotta go solo... its not always possible to get a group at atk - and assassins are often loitering with intent in that zone. Understand? Good

The thing is that it screws up the class system dramatically, i was amazingly lucky yesturday and ran thru lopez who was afk while stealthed, so i killed her because i dont like sbs, and it took 7 fecking shots, it was almost impossible to kill her while she was afk, i was worried about running out of arrows and then durability on my sword and shield. Saw a new type (to me anyway) of annoying soloer advantage yesturday, a sb with pbt casted on him, he was fecking impossible.

Can you kill stuff just as easy without buffbot as you can with one? If you can't, what makes you able to kill them? Is it the 'skill' you get because you know you have a buffbot, or was it the enhanced stats you had while buffed that made you able to kill?

People say all the time; "Oooh, that was a great duel, it lasted soo long". If long fights is so fun, why get a buffbot..
I'm not going to say more than that.

This post worries me.... you sound like you are being drawn to the dark side of the game...


but buffbotts are ridiculous...

Bear in mind this is only a game... using 2 PC and paying for 2 accounts just strengthen your 1 primary account solo player is not only unfair its a tad on the extreme side....

It totally takes the fun away for the normal people who play this game....

Believe it or not even it I had 2 PC's and a free subscrptied account with a Lvl 50 buff specced druid... I wouldnt use a buffbott... Dunno, just killing a singal target when your so uberfied that the target stands no chance isnt a challenge to me....

But hey its your choice....

(Also theres so many buffbotts parked at DL you can just ask for buffs, nothing wrong with that imo)

Thats just unlucky, by the same chance the sb might have helped you to kill the infil thus giving you the advantage (but less reward). Whereas if your buffed and you kill both cus they are unbuffed you get more reward.

I think buffbots spoil the game, and people who use them are lame. And if I had one, or access to one, I doubt I could resist using it.

Once you have played with the full monty of high level buffs and seen the incredible difference it makes, it's painful to go back to the unbuffed state. Sadly, it's still not clear whether or not Mythic is going to attempt to address the issue - Sanya has been putting out feelers on the IGN boards trying to get as much feedback about buffbots as possible while the game designers debate whether or not to do anything about it.

If Mythic ultimately decides that buffbots are kosher, then I'd like to see them go one step further: introduce the premium account. Pay a double monthly fee, and automatically get the full set of druid/shaman/cleric buffs equivalent to the level of the character you are playing on your premium account, so my 50 ranger will always have the buffs a level 50 druid would give. If buffbots are fair play, then let's make them official, and easier for people to get.

There is no argument of defence for buffbots. I don't like them but I have to accept they're part of the game and there's no easy solution to combat the problem.

The only idea I can think of that is workable is to have an NPC buffbot poisioned at player and frontier keeps that can only buff players that are lvl 50 and for the buffs only to be usable within the boundaries of the frontier zones. This would avoid players exploiting them to be used for fighting creatures for exp. Even with this idea I accept there are flaws to contend with.

if im solo i expect to be able to outmelee a solo hunter (with ip + 75con/str charged item buffs)

i dont expect to be hit for 200+ at an attack speed greater than mine.

Even grouped, a buffbot user still has an advantage as they will have access to more buffs than would be otherwise available (unless your group is 2 tanks and 6 druids or something). Generally as a ranger in a group I'll get con and dex buffs. If we have a druid as well as a bard/warden I might get a second, stacked con and a strength buff - if they can spare the conc. If I had a buffbot, not only would I have the full set of buffs, but the buffers in the group would have extra conc to buff the other members. And of course, in combat the buffbot user won't lose his buffs if the group's buffer is killed - his buffer is safe and asleep back at the keep.

Basically a buffbot provides you with an extra 20 or so buffs, in a group it means a naturalists/mages can focus their conc on other buffs/resists, it can make a huge difference to the hitpoints/evade/crit of chars.
