Is bt broadband good for playing daoc with?
I play on BT Broadband 2mb line and its awesome for daoc, never been disconnected with it ever. My router has had the internet online for 68 days now and it was off because i switched rooms before that. Only lag i get is server lag which GoA need to sort out.

Btw the router has 3 more PC's connected to it, 2 playing WoW, other is my bro's (DL Porn?) and me running 2 DAoC accounts, and no lag whatsoever

Used to have a BT Broadband account also and never had any problems playing with it. I now have a Zen broadband account and that's just as good.

Penlid - you get lag between your ISP and the server as well as server lag

Personally I couldn't live without broadband these days :)

(blueyonder cable here though)
No personal experience with BT broadband but for getting broadband in general:
Patching will be much faster.
Downloading free expansions will be faster.

Plus broadband is just ace ;)

I used to wrok for em , and well they seemed decent enough ,
With any call center taht you ring there will be ques ... so just hang on.

They are nothing like my current ISP (Eircom -- Ireland)
they S00k ... the serivce it self just got upgraded to a 2 meg line, however
we do get dumped off whenever they feel like it... and the only reasone they have 2 meg lines now is cuz another ISP is offering them at a cheaper price..

As long as we don't have to phone them i'm happy ... because i'm conviced they are shaved , trained monkeys .... I know thier job , i let them do there job , they know this and they still try to fob me off :/

anyway rant over

Dunno how people still surf the net or play games without broadband tbh..When I started using the net 14.4k was fast, but websites have become more graphicly intensive (Larger files)..If I didn't have BB I wouldn't go on the net.

BT bb here - I was 1 of the 1st 150 customers to sign up for free, no complaints at all, been very reliable - Home BB has one disadvantage to Business version, won't come out at wekends if you do get a prob, but so far only problems I have had are due to an electricity sub station catching fire - the switch over to another sub station blue the fuse at the DSL exchange, happened on a Friday evening and despite BT saying that as a home user they would get it fixed on Monday - it was fixed Friday night - they phoned and explained that a business user at my exchange had also phoned so they were obliged to fix it asap :)

Now, ask Bt if you can have a free month for getting another person to sign up with them :p

I'm on BT Broadband , and have been for nearly 2 years .

Can only echo what others have said here , never had any problems that couldn't have been avoided ( ie router going belly up ) and those that happened were fixed in a decent timespan .

My home router has been connected now for 4 months solid since i last rebooted it :p

Only net probs i get seem to come from OT or the odd router in between .

That's actually not true what they are telling you. The basic deal is yes, for a single home user problem they would not do anything about it over the weekend. But for something involving 10s or more users, even home ones they will do something about it right away.

BT are bastards.....
