Can anyone recommend some good (free to play) browser games? My preference is for empire building/strategy/crime turn based games but I'll play anything ... am getting a bit of cabin fever as my recovery from my operation drags out and my laptop is only Celeron powered so can't run anything decent.

I did find something called Cyber Nations which looks pretty fun, but isn't too involving at the ground level.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I play this space 4x game if you are looking for one. We're a bit far into the current game though, may not be too easy starting out.

Is Minecraft browser based? Firingsquad raved about it. Google it.

The Space Game and its sequel are well worth a play at The Casual Collective. Splitter is a handy time killer too.

Some great stuff there, thanks very much! 3D pong is evil, my aged reflexes could only get to level 3. Had a fun game of The Hobbit, thanks Damini :D

Surely it's up to running Civ4? If so there's hours (days) of time gone!

Other things to try are older games through dosbox from Home of the Underdogs
