Its the only version of rugby, its not for gimps who like to take a rest after getting tackled.

AYe cos the fat boys in union who like to lie on the floor after getting tackled, then taking 16 years to get up to their feet arent taking a rest. Whats the point in a sport where the ball is out of play more than its actually in play. Team A kick off. Team B catch it. Team B boot the ball into touch. Fat boys from team A and team B both take 5 mins to jog to the scrummage point. Everyone claps. Pointless.

It would be more enjoyable to watch if the northern hemisphere teams had a basic grasp of rugby skills which they dont. They recycle the ball far to slow, giving the opposition time to set their defensive line. The angles they run are so shocking ive seen amateur RL clubs run better angles and lines. No dummy runners, no bringing the ball back on the inside, no decent halves at all (hodson, wilkinson et al are all poor ball handlers, clueless in fact).

This is how bad RU is. 2 years ago, Bradford Bulls played St Helens on the friday night in a bruising encounter, the 2 top teams in RL at the time. They then travelled down to middlesex over night for the RU 7's tourny. Their coach broke down on route and they didnt get there till 4 am, giving them 4 hours sleep. They still walked the tournament with ease, beating Wasps, Leicester and Sale on route.

I dont care about professional level, I will never reach that, we play league in training everynow and then and without all the rucks and mauls (where half the fun happens) the game to me is boring. If you take a look at 90% of a pro union team as well I would hardly call them fatboys, they NEED to have bigger players than in league to push over the ball though.

Notice you are from Newcastle. What club do you play for up there? I spent a bit of time playing for Blaydon, only a few months though, until Newcastle got its self a league team set up.

HAHAAH not going so well now is it you pommy bugger :D

You can be quiet now thanks. Brett Lee is a one trick pony. I doubt the last 3 wickets in hand will get you enough runs to stop England playing for just under 3 days to finish it off.

And I wonder how Gilchrist feels being in Fintoffs pocket? ;)

I have to admit the game WAS more of a bowlers game 20 years ago. Some of the batsmen these days are far better at destroying the ball. I'd guess that the findings with baseball 20 years ago would be reinforced today ;)

anyone know a good website where i could learn how to do a rain-dance lol.

how the hell the umpire didnt give pietersen out today with that full toss from brett lee is beyond me. if pietersen goes on to make a huge score and save game for england now.. it will be a bit of a hollow victory tbh.

i rather drink a beer then sitting infront a telly/radio listening to sports.. hearing the announcer ot whatever its called pee his pants whenever someone do anything isnt really what i like to hear. and then i can always read about it in the news the day after. they usually cover all thats important in a few lines wich it takes about 20 sec to read ;)

think bill bryson described it best... "a bunch of guys running around with mattresses strapped to their legs doing their best to hit a ball while the other team try to catch it... with plenty of meal breaks and tea breaks in between" :p

Oscar Wilde said it better - "organised loafing"
HAHAAH not going so well now is it you pommy bugger
It's POME you idiot, its stands for Prisoners Of Mother England. Can't remember who said it but, "It's better to a prisoner of mother England than a prisoner from mother England".

regarding the Cricket game over from the looks of it, Aussie's did well. Still 4 more to go and a closer match as there has been for 15 years. Just think McGragh and Warne probably in their final Ashes series and not much comming through on the Aussie bowling. Lee can be good but not consistant.

England seem to have a young side that is playing better and better. Just need to find a few more South Africans and we should be sorted for a few years! ;)
