I have seen this film with the family, if you are going to watch it for the fantasy stuff you will be sorely disappointed!

For those who want to know

The effects shown in the trailer are about all there is in the whole movie and even then at the end!

It's a pity nowadays that in many's opinion a film can only be good if it contains wtfpwn special effects. :/

There are still multiple movies out there that use almost no special effects, but are still good. It's called having a storyline.
It's a pity in my opinion, because it seems to me that most films using those awesome special effects use them mostly to cover poor storylines. (Obviously there are enough exceptions to this rule, like Fight Club, Pirates, SinCity)

Then again some anal "art" people think that an effect movie MUST be crap.

Like the prejudice towards matrix, which actually has quite a nice story and those "long boring speaches" are part of it.

It works both ways, effects are nice, storylines are nice, they are not two sides of a coin though.

Ingafgrinn, I didn't offer an opinion on the film.
There are little effects and not even much of a story at the end of the day. I would however object that by inference the movie would spend a lot of its time in terabithia, whereas it is mostly spent imagining what the girl and boy pretend to see, which when you take a young family to see, you end up explaining most of what is going on.

As a film it is good (I had seen it before it I had seen the adverts), if I saw it on the basis of the trailer I would have wondered if I went to see the right film. (An opinion scarily that my wife agrees with :fluffle: )
