Hmm nah

I think It will be a four way between

England(got Lampard and Rooney this time around)
Germany(home soil, other than that they got a pretty shitty team)
Brazil(they always win :( )
Spain(I always want them to win, they have a fantastic team but like England, they always fail)

depending on off the field crap dug up by the gutter press (the sun) i think we have a good chance this time around, though i am sure those cockwits at the sun will try thier best to mess up our key players minds just before the cup.

I could be wrong but i am sure i have read that the world cup, apart from the last one, has never been won by a team outside of the continent of the host nation. what i mean is that a s american team has never won the cup when it is hosted outside a s american host nation and vice versa. Having said that the damn brazilians look fooking awesome and must be favourites, as they always seem to be.

Would love to say England but my bets will be on :

Brazil.. easy to see why/shite odds
Netherlands.. Good squad and class players / good odds
Czech Republic .. Dark horse / good odds
Portugal .. Scolari as manager/ good odd
Ivory Coast.. got to have a long shot / can defend/ amazing odds

Also Germany but i cant place money on a game i wont watch and they are the definition of functional.

As for England.. we will be ok until we come up against a better/competent manager, which could be any game of the tournament, and then Eriksson will fail.. as he has done time and time again.

Big Phil Scholari to take over in july? or will they appoint another manager from the 'won fuck all' school of management ?

the video is fake, there is a guy inside the goal throwing out the balls (or so ive been told!). still quite impressiv.

about the world cup, no offence but england is the most overestimated team ever to set foot on this planet. well not really since its only england fans that thinks highly of them, ill be suprised if they get past group stage (and i dont even know their group :p).

Couldnt agree more.. we are only ever amongst the favourites when we say we are... the odds on england to win are way longer in europe than in bookmakers here... nuff said.

The world cup has some very interesting statistics attached to it, but the most important ones are these.

1) The World Cup has never been won by a European nation when its been held outside of Europe (although many have reached the final)
2) Brazil are the only non-European nation to have won the world cup when its been held on European soil. (1958)
3) The host country (if they are what i call a proper footballing nation - im excluding USA and SK/Japan) always tends to do well in the competition and it has produced many of its winners.

Winners
1930 Uruguay
1934 Italy
1966 England
1974 Germany
1978 Argentina
1998 France

Runners Up
Brazil 1950
Sweden 1958

Taking all things into consideration my idea of the final is England vs Germany with England eventual winners.

The video is fake, they did another spoof one for it where he kicks the ball high over the goal but it suddenly dips and hits the crossbar and bounces back, if you watch it in slow motion you can see that the actual flightpath of the ball is not normal.

The 3rd kick is a dead giveaway. He is by far the best player in the world, but that clip is a spoof ;)

As for England, as much as i would love us to win i don't think we will, we have some great players, but a complete fuckwit for a manager, sooner he's gone the better.

Unfortunately it does end.. with the fact that we lack a central holding player of any class, any sort of left sided midfielder and our only left backs have both been out all season with injury.

Erikson fails to make the only decision he has to make, and plays two attacking midfielders every game, partly because we don't have a lot of talent in depth and partly because he is useless.

On top of all this, Owen has hardly kicked a ball all year and the fat grannyfucker from liverpool cant do it all alone.

We have a good chance of getting through our group, but a balanced side will take us apart every day of the week and twice on sundays.

Agreed, there are a lot better teams out there at the moment. However, its football and you never know what can happen, look at last years Champions League Final. Having said that though things dont look to good for England for the reasons you have posted so eloquently and others.

Oh and for the poster listing the names of all those english players that are talented i have to say they might be talented but none are what i would call world class with a proven track record (maybe apart from Micheal Owen David Beckham and Gerrard). The rest are a long list of, sorry to say, mediocare players and certanly nowhere near what one can call the best player in the world in their postions.

As to the manager i cant see this guy winning jack shit as i am a firm believer that they should have a Brit for the England job and not a foriegn coach. All well and good for club sides to have foriegn coaches but i think for the top job it should be at least someone from the UK if not a Englishman as at the bare minimum.

It goes from bad to disaster.

Rooney now out (i dont think he will feature)
Cole and Bridge still MIA
Owen still not played 90 minutes this year.

And to top it all off the FA bungle their approach for the only viable candidate at this moment in time.

heh i meant scholari, but i guess there has been a few days now.

Of the list of five i guess he would be my second choice.. but he is yet another england manager who's cv doesn't include winning anything.

Will they ever learn ?
