Bragging rights over DF fights & mob damage in RvR

Now we have the oppertunity to fight in DF i thought bragging rights to kills in DF should be layed out in someway. Bit tired now so im logging after a fight with some mids in the middle of DF.

So why do i bring up bragging rights, well, basically emoting to someone you have killed is fun and a great way of celebrating your victory but now that most fights in DF take place with mobs nearby we have to be a little careful about emoting gloating over a victory. After all attacking a group of albs that are fighting two purp and one red con mobs doing bugger all damage and not getting any rp's for the one or two you actually got the death blow for does not in anyway give you the right to emote after.

In fact this whole no RP's as the target has taken mob damage is something to be watched out for. So maybe if there is a face off between two groups and one gets attacked you let them kill the mobs before you attack, after all you get nothing from it <shrug> wait until they kill the mobs and heal then attack and you will get all the rp's for it. Infact the only reason to attack is to remove them from the dungeon or cause exp deaths (matters little to a season 50). I assume even a thane can figure this out.

Btw a good way to tell if your attack was pointless is that when the victims release they leave tombstones behind. Oh how i wish i could have laughed at those idiots bowing away at us after doing, well nothing.

One last point, damn this epic armour is good, its nice to see all these you resist and xxx misses you flash up <grins>

I think df is very cleverly designed and the person who done it has great imagination,as for the dungeon its real cool having rvr and exping in one.Around 4am earlier we fought around 10 mids and pulled around 10 mobs too hehe it was awesome i dont give a crap if i die exp death and lose money i love the fun in df anyway and i am glad hibs and mids come in to cause havoc.

Hey, my group got XP deaths because of a few orange con highlanders that (seemed to) wait for us to pull 3 red/purples and then attacked us. I was trying to figure out what type of mob a "Highlander+" was... and thought "Oh crap, I just drew more aggro by hitting it..."

At least they got promptly ganked themselves by other Mids/mobs.

Tera, there's no honour, ignore the gimps that think they achieved something. They're in every realm. I mean, think of this. I could take my infil, sneak (ok, TRY sneak) all the way to the Midgard high level area, and CS their L50 healer as he's about to AE mezz or heal...would be "amusing", but would/could mean lots of death to them? I see it as griefing, but it's not against the CoC. And really, in a dungeon where aggro is everywhere, you can't wait for people to rest.

I don't see people getting a lot of RP's down there, except for people ganking those that attacked first, i.e. Those with the mobs attacking them, will be the ones to get RPs, not the ones doing the initial attack.

Usually its kinda exiting to get overrun by middies, but today, when that level 50 runie snuck into the level 20-25 area on the alb side and started xp killing greys - I saw that as plain bad sportsmanship. There was a group of levels 20-25 sitting resting after a fight. he did a pbaoe and killed 7 of them instantly, and promply sat around a blind corner and nuked people as they came. Good job some high-level SOTL were passing and he got killed.

I danced on his corpse afterwards.

Expect that runies don't have PBAE so pretty hard to do it

Aye the point is you get NO rp's/bp's for killing someone that has taken damge from a mob. Was a piece of advice for everyone. Go ahead kill people that have been damaged, will just quitely laugh at you afterwards.

I don't see that as a laughing matter. But i expect death, and will dish it out.

no but seriously, Ive been fighting mobs and got albs on us in the heat of the fight and got killed and also killed mob/albs/hibs and had a great time, I 100% agree to mattshanes (dont get any ideas matt, we're still in different realms ) that it's bloody fun no matter what, you always die, exp or not. its still damn fast exp there anyhow :]

but it's funny you mention that we should wait for you to finish the mob and heal, while YOU albs attacked us FIRST when a mob aggroed us and not before, hmm? (no, we were not more then you)

Hmmm, yes I can see this scenario happening ALL the time like I can see Motom et al NOT killing greys and rez sick people or in fact ANY Alb or Hib for that matter sitting patiently in a dungeon full of crazy aggro Mobs while members of an enemy realm sit and rest up a bit.

And of course YOU would never kill people who were in the process of xp'ing huh, especially GREY Mids...so it wasnt you I killed while you were hunting xp'ing mids at yggdra gate a few weeks ago with your chum Aevar then? Hmmmm

If the fights were always fair then I could understand people talking about honour. However the fights are almost never even in the slightest. I have yet to see one encounter in DF that had even remotely the same number of people on one side. In that situation you would be daft not to use everything you could to survive.

RvR is as much about not getting yourself killed as it is about anything else. In that sort of situation it is better to kill the enemy so they are no longer a threat to you. RP are just a nice side effect of not having to release and get back into the place. It is also fun of course

The sheer number of people involved means that even using mob aggro wisely during a fight you are still going to get a ton of RP. Since DF opened (5 days ago as of Sunday) our guild has gotten over 700,000 RP. That is more than we've ever gotten in such a short space of time and is directly down to the way RvR now involves all the classes in your guild rather than just the stealthers. It is great, I am enjoying it and a few exp deaths to mobs is a small price to pay for such fun

Tactics > Stealth, Zerging or anything else in DF. If tactics involves using the mobs that are around the place then so be it.
