Boomslang2k help

I've just got a boomslang2k and am having one or two probs with it.
I went from the 'white slug', ya know, the ms intelli-eye. I used the left side button for RL wep bind and the right side button for the PG wep bind. On the boomslang though I am having real trouble getting at the side buttons easily. It's so fiddly to get at them, especially quickly as you would need to do with wep binds. I'm wondering what other users opinions are on whether the side buttons ARE badly placed and I should rebind my wep binds (to kb keys) and start to get used to that, or if it is just 100% 'not used to it' and I will get used to it over time and be fine with it. Did anyone else have this / similar prob and find that after a week they could use the buttons ok?
I'd love to know if it's just me or if I've just found the bs2k's weakness the hard way!
O, also, did anyone else find they had to reduce their /sensitivity when they started to use the bs2k?
Thx in advance.

Unless you have deformed hands, you shouldnt be able to use both of the thumb buttons correctly, cos one of the side buttons is ment for lefties, and the other for normal right handed gamers :p

On my explorere i had the small thumb bound to gren, and the big to PG, and because i use the PG more than the gren i bound the left thumb button on my BS to F6(my PG bind) and then used the only other logical key for gren, G :]

And I did have to change my sens a bit, i went from 18 down to 7 :)

btw, it also helps if you have a really decent mat as well, everglides are ok, but if you want the bestest you should get the icemat

hope this has help'd ;D

Silvers slugs 0wn j00. not that I use the two buttons on the signed, I've stuck them to do certain windows functions only (double click and alt+tab).

The white intelli-eye has only one side button on the left and one on the right, not two on the left like the silver slug. I found both left and right easy to use on that but the bs2k is weird.

Ah, the right side button is the really difficult one I must admit. It hadn't crossed my mind that they were ambidextrous mice. I guess RL on the thumb and PG on the wheel click-down button then i spose. Thanks for that.
Ah, I use an everglide btw and it seems to work great. Still getting used to the much heavier weight of the bs2k tho.

Waz, ya nutter! You have to make supreme sacrafices for a kewl q3 setup ....... even if that means windows is a pain in the arse to use ;) BS2K 0wn5 j00!! ....... er, and me actually atm :p

To be honest, I can't think of anything that I could possibly bind to those buttons, except maybe zoom - but I can't rail with that anyway. The only time I find I need to use zoom is on DM17, which I never play anyway...

When I got my BS I had problems gettingused to it for a few weeks then eventually got the hang of it and it felt great. I use both side buttons in Q3, the right button for crouch and the left button for use item :).

I also had problems getting my sensitivity right but in the end I just put the BS up to 10 and q3 up quite high and put up with it untill it felt right :D.

If you wanna set a bind on it, in q3config put something like

bind F9 "say u suck"

Then go to ur boomslang config window thingy and click buttons. Move down to button 4 or 5 whichever you want, from the window select assign a key and push F9 in there, then it should work

:)

No scrolling probs here.
I have now got used to the mouse ...... at last ......... more or less :)
I must say, they are very very accurate and with a bit of patience are considerably more precise than the ms intelli-eye I used to use.
I'd recommend the bs2k to anyone who finds their intelli-eye 'flickers', moves on it's own, doesn't respond sometimes, or performs poorly when moved quickly.
