our server booking is automated from point of booking right through to starting up your booking with your details - we'd never keep up if we did a simple diary system then got someone to manually configure servers for each booking as some others do.
Its on our to do list, both UT and that other unmentionable but strangely popular game... :¬)
I was looking at the web admin client for UT last weekend, neat init? - do our 'competitors' offer this to manage your booked server?
What sort of features would you like to see on bookable UT servers?
we are definately going to do this, but need to do it properly so demand doesn't outstrip our ability to manage it :¬)
Any further developments- Thought I'd give Barrysworld our custom after slightly shoddy service from the Wireplay bookable servers -after many requests from one of my esteemed team mates, we still don't have the authority to change levels - much as I like Deck 16 ][, you can have too much of a good thing ...

Work is progressing well on the new system. Major parts are done, though our nerds are still hard at work building all the new components that the system requires. Not only will we supporting a bunch more games but there will be new options available such as instant booking of a free slot (instead of having to book in advance).
Ta Speccy. Keep the whip to the nerds- if they ain't bleeding, you're not hitting 'em hard enough.
Soooo, let me guess- you're not allowed to announce any target time 'cos that would guarentee a late delivery. Can you give us a hint? Next fortnight(ish)? Next month? higher? Lower? Ohh, that's just right.

We intend to support any game/mod combo that can be run as a dedicated server with config files/command line settings.
When the original server booking system was written Quake was the only kid on the block. As soon as Q2 came out it highlighted how inflexible the original app is. At the moment they are writing what appears to me as a sort of server booking language. It all sounds damn clever but my eyes glaze over whenever they go into detail about it
