Nice one Dams.

Grabbed a copy of Golden and Grey when I was in the states - had to search through a couple of stores tho.

Once I wake up, ill be in touch - daughter would love to have some scribblings from the author in her book :D

I have no idea how long the book launch will last, though I should imagine a couple of hours at most. However, for those so inclined, I'm having a party on the 13th, next week, at Local Heroes in Canterbury - unofficial, so a bit more laid back, with an acoustic band, a kid's party style buffet with jelly and sausage rolls, and a bar, in a gorgeous little hall, which will go on till 11. Again, everyone is invited along.

Awesome Damini :) I remember reading the bits on your old website back in the days of Barrysworld and then reading the excerpt from 'Grey Arthur' in the Beeb competition - it was easily the best.

I liked the style as it appeals to both kids and parents (which as a parent is a godsend as some kids books are tripe... ).

Good luck - I'm sure the launch will go well - I'm going to buy a copy to read to my daughter :)

Congratulations Damini,
I hope the launch goes well and I am looking forward to reading the book to my childrens. WPKennys photos of the launch in New York were impressive too.

Blast from the past

Hello ex-Barryfolk,

I just saw Ms Damini's media coverage, and I thought I'd log in for the first time in two years to say a big hearty congrats. Lou - if you and bloke ever need to stop by again we've now got a less mingingly uncomfortable sofa-bed :)

As for me, my life is all mySociety.org , and all is going rather well. We launched PledgeBank about a month ago, and life is all well. Maybe a nostalgia beer some time?

Hah, it wasn't so much that the sofa bed was uncomfortable, just the fact that you gave us one pillow between two heads, which caused untold hostile takeovers and underhand tactics. Its good to see things are going well for you :)

Well you'd better start leaking the gory details of your private life, before former lovers and crack-addicted friends start spilling the beans to the press....

I'll be buying your book from Amazon shortly, I really hope the sales are good for you :)

If anyone fancies reading a great review of Lou's book she's got almost a half page spread in the book review section of The Times today :)

Might be an idea for anyone with the book to review it on Amazon, those little stars can have quite an impact on what people buy...

FYI I've just ordered it :)

HEHE!

She's in the Times AGAIN! In today's issue she's in the supp mag called Culture and has been named Children's Book of The Week.

That'll be the third time she's featured in the Times. :)

Funday Times last week, yesterday's main paper and today's supplement as book of the week. WHOOP!

Don't forget about the chance to meet this wonderfully talented woman tomorrow night in Canterbury where she'll be signing books and even reading an exerpt!

How did it go ?
Where are the pictures ? :)
A two day hangover indicates a good launch ?

Hope it went splendidly.

It went really well. Infact, it was totally lovely, and I feel slightly silly about how nuerotic and fearful I was over it all. There were quite a few kids there, lots of people I didn't know, and one of my friends' kids even came in fancy dress as a ghost, which was amazing :) All the books sold out, so they underestimated demand, which was just spanking, and I have to go back and sign more.
