My official book launch is being held in Methvens in Canterbury on the 18th July at 7.30 PM. Wine will be served apparently (obviously, they have no idea how financially draining this could be in light of the company I keep). If anybody can make it down it would be lovely to see you.

I got my copy last week, it's the next book on my list to read, so I may get around to it this week.

No chance I'll make that, but do you rekon you'd sign it if I posted it to you with an SAE?

Make sure you:

a) contact local newspaper "local writer is next JK Rowling!" headlines, they'll love it.
b) pimp it around some parenting forums.
c) get a decent website done?

That I am, Brynn :) Please forgive the bland holding pages up at the moment, they were just a quick affair. Both versions of the site should be up and running in the next few days, certainly in time for the UK book launch :D

Hope all goes well with the book, Lou. I've been reading various reviews and they've all been favourable. You've also been awarded Ottaker's Children's Book of the Month (8-12 year old) :D

Kind Regards

I've put up some pics of Lou with her book out in the shops in New York.
In one of the pics you can see Lou looking a little overwhelmed but posing with her book. The lady behind is her first ever signing.

We went into Barnes and Noble in New York looking for her book. I was with her parents when we found it and Lou was off somewhere else in the shop. As we approached the book we noticed a women was reading the inside jacket. As we picked up a copy she asked us if we knew anything about the book. Heh. Big mistake. Her parents decided to get their claws into the woman and tell her all about their daughter as I went off to find where she'd gotten to. I found her and told her it was time to meet her first fan.

So by a happy coincidence, the first time Lou saw her book in the shops it was actually being read by a real person. :)

Some other pics there show Lou doing a mass signing for about 40 people who work in the publisher's office in New York.

You can see the pics here... www.wpkenny.com/usabook

Also for those with more time you can see an edited number of our holiday pics here... www.wpkenny.com/usa2k5 but be patient as it's hosted on my own DSL.

Well done Dams :D
Sadly, I do not get home from work until that time, and Canterbury is a long way from home :(

Well done though! Congratulations! :D

sadly I can't, though believe me I was very tempted :) you rock Lou, and I'm sure you and young Kenneth will manage to polish off the wine without the likes of me lurking about :) have fun, and my most heartfelt contratulations!

I hope the launch goes well

Gl with the book - what's the title if you don't mind me asking?

Is it a fiction/non fictional piece?

Now that it is published are you happy that it is over or are you eager to get started on the next one?

Lou, congratulations, can I get the signing pm?! :) Do I get them posted straight to you and then pay you to post them back, or get them sent here, post them to you or what?!
I hope it went ok, have you spoken to the BBC? They might be interested in doing a followup on the author who won that poll a few years ago, would be nice publicity.
Again on the BBC thing, perhaps talk to CBBC or something, im sure theres some kiddys program that suggests books for kids to read, you might even get an appearance on Blue Peter!! Although I'm sure your agent will sort it :p

Congratulations again!

Well done Lou. Very well done.

Nice to see you're now a "proper" author! ;)

Book signings and everything, geez, I've been away from here too much.

:D

Again, congrats Lou, and I'll be buying a copy, signature or no signature. :)
