I believe the video of the snake eating the bird is off the net not from someone's webcam on chatroulette, there's some software which enables you to play a video as your webcam feed (ManyCam I think)

Playing it safe eh, i guess some people are not hardcore enough to open a thread with NSFW or boob (or any other indecent word) tag's in the title, when you are about to risk an awkward moment because there just might be something offensive right on the front page and your work colleague / mom or gf for example, happens to be standing right behind you.
