Just an update.
I have heard alot about people being sick and having diarrhoea recently as our GP mentioned it along with the local radio station.

There is something going round which gives you the shits and makes you sick alot. you are NOT supposed to eat much if you have this and it passes in 2 days. If you eat, you will feed it :-( some old people have actually died from this as they never took the warning about not eating...but they may have been super fucked before getting it anyway.

praying i dont get it as im diabetic and our immune system is teh suck

I just woked up feeling pretty rough with something like you and russell described, wondering if I've got what everyone else has as my mum's had something similar last week.

It was just the other day that I was thinking how long its been since I was ill as well heh, think I tempted fate Really has been ages though, I've never been ill enough to put me off of my training before, and I started over a year and a half ago, and I cant even remember any time since I was about 18, and that was self-inflicted from too much drink the night before To put it into perspective - I took paracetamol for the first time this morning in around 4-5 years.

I always eat shitloads though so I'm really going to struggle to keep away from the food

Had mumps when I was 18, the doctor didn't believe me though and afterwards when it was eventually diagnosed as such I was made to stand outside the waiting rooms when I visited my GP since I was infectious

Copious amounts of codeine did the trick while waiting it out, haven't been so monged out in my life before or since, which was awesome.

OMG I had to go to Hospital!! After 5 days the pain got worse and worse and I blacked out in my bathroom yesterday. Really scary -never done that before and my little kiddlies were downstairs.

Got prodded and poked and they suspected Appendicitis. So had x rays, bloods, water tests ( Mr Russell jumped for joy when it was confirmed that I was not pregnant. ha ha)

Put me on a drip to re-hydrate me and i started to feel better. Turns out it is only acute gastroenteritis -felt like such a fool. They said I could stay in, but I wanted to go home.

So I am here armed with strong meds and hot water bottles. Still feel rough, and I guess a little pathetic...

But I have lost over a stone just in time for Ladies Day at Ascot, if I am well enough to go...

Eek - glad to hear you're ok russell, atleast now that you've been to hospital you know its nothing more serious than that, still sounds pretty nasty though so best to have a good rest up

The painkillers worked well yesterday - think they worked all the better because I dont often take them, feeling alot better now was just annoyed that it put me off of my running yesterday really, I didnt think I got that ill anymore heh. Will just have to make up for it today

Dont feel bad for being ill, sounds like you really do deserve a good rest.

The worst I have been, which is pretty lame compared to most of these tales, was 2 Christmas’s ago. I was laid up for about 10 days with the same type of gastric stomach problems much like russell’s (although not as bad, obviously). It was coming out of both ends at half hour intervals. The stomach cramps were the most painful thing I have ever had, I had pills to stop the cramps, but the side effects were diarrhoea, and pills to stop the diarrhoea, but the side effects were….well you get the picture.

I had Russell running around getting my prescription (which is a story all of it’s own) poorly food and copy’s of ZOO mag (fake prOn) which pissed my brother off, cos he thinks I cant survive without him wiping my arse

I did have a bit of a turn on Thursday due to a bug I picked up from a friend (no name). Had my head down the toilet all night and till 2.00pm Friday, although I’m in no position to complain as she has been like it for nearly a week now

Being ill really, really sucks, I want to go to the gym, I need to clean my house, I cant miss another week of college, stuff is pileing up... I am soooo bored of feeling crap and lying on my back.

I have every sympathy for people who have to deal with pain every day of their life,the people who are really sick. God, how do they do it? I am feeling really down today and I have only been out of action for a week- I need to get a grip.

I've been having a bit of "diabetic" trouble lately, also have more in the past, and it basically means i'm tired through the day and aching all over when i wake up and also through the day.

Basically it's pain 24. But, the funny thing is, you get used to it

I'm thinking, that's how you do it.

People are like roaches really, we adapt or die.

necro after being redirected from the other thread.

a year or so ago, i had a dodgy take away burger. a few hours after eating it, i threw it back up, but it was not normal vomit, it was huge chunks of meat, and it was mental. I've never felt so sick, even though it was very temporary (2-3 hours) I was leant over the kitchen sink with the tap running over the back of my head as it was the only thing i could do to make it feel like i wasnt about to die. Luckily, it was one of the few times that megadave went to bed before 3am so he didnt see me in my pants covered in meat sick.

TBH you were kinda asking for it; never get anything from burger vans or from those high street shit-holes that are still open when the pubs & clubs empty. Pure filth.

Reminds me of those stories you used to hear about the curry houses next to the high street pubs - chefs / waiters gobbing & jacking off into the food etc.

Shame, in Finland the latenight burgerjoints(that aren't MacD etc) are the best places to get proper noms.

Though not as great as the "open at 4am" restaurant in my usual metal-place
