Do you listen to blues/Blues-Jazz ?

if so when do you tend to and why ?

personally, I dont really need any reason as such,
but personally I dont fall into the cliche, of listening to blues when I'm sad
actually often I find quite the opposit. Mostly I find my self listening to it, when I just want to chill out, but Especially and mostly when I tend to fall into "reflective mode"

mostly i find my playlist ending on things likef.expbut, lets not turn this into a post your fav song thread, I think We already have one of those anyway?

If I do find my self bit sad I rather find my self listening to the likes of Spanish classicals.. dono why really guess I find them Uplifting somehow...
but then again I'm not one to wallow in sadness or anger..F.exp

Well in answer to your question when i want to unwind i listen to some Miles Davis/BB king more chilled out stuff, and when im drinking with mates it will be Derek and the Dominoes or Fleetwood Mac something more upbeat. Such a diverse genre it can fit any mood.

Totally depends on what mood I'm in and what I feel like playing.
I've got a reasonably wide taste for music. I don't like current Rap/RnB though, nor the dance/trance/hardcore electronic music.

When I want to unwind, if I've had a very busy, hectic and mainly frustrating day sometimes I put on something like Dimmu Borgir, or Haggard. When frustrations isn't part of the package I might put on something like Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Katie Melua, or Renee Olstead. Ohw, if you're into smooth jazzy sounds like those former four, go check out "Room Eleven" on youtube :)
Ohw, I don't like experimental jazz. Sounds to me like a couple of kids picking up an instrument for the first time and start jamming away.

i mostly like the old (and i mean proper old) blues but then i have never heard any new blues. i also don't actually listen to music for a reason (Unless im working out but you can;t really hammer it to blues)

btw would you class nina simone as a blues baby?

Love blues, think I got that from my dad, always had stuff like Lightning Hopkins, Blind Willie Johnson, Howlin Wolf and the outstanding Robert Johnson playing in the house while I was growing up.

Just a great genre of music to chill out and unwind to.

yeah nice acoustic version that. Pennyroyal Tea is a good one from that session as well, and the Bowie one they covered as well.
