Seen it yesterday, thought the other beer that was reported in the same article was tongue in cheek - think it was called 'Nanny State'. If I see it though, I'll grab a bottle

that was a follow up on the last imp stout they made think it was around 18% abv ?
which they got critized for, so they made a low abv as a follow up and called it nanny state.

Aye, you got it man. Really stupid the way people think. I mean, ok, not that many peeps know of Pelinka. Now that's some serious crap, and the stuff that goes in it rofl!! Yet you hear nothing of it. I am sure there's someone out there wanting to fill Mary Whitehouse's stillettos.

Personally, this winter I am into porter. I can't believe I missed that beer for so long, yet most pubs didn't sell it. Which is just plain stupid given its history. But yeah, if i see either of those beers, which I will have to look hard for in an off license in Liverpool because of the way the market is and how it is dictated here. I'll get my hands on it.

I'm still gathering my strength for that one.
in it's "pure form" as in the new make spirit, was surprisingly good.

tried a new Danish gin today, "distilled in London though"
but developed in DK, and all the ingrediants are "born and bread" danish.
they send the lot to london, get it distilled, and sent back in liquid goodness.

it's called Geranium look it up, "if you like gin"


who says men dont want to resive flowers ?

My dad is a huge gin drinker! Not that he's a drunk, but he drinks a lot of that stuff!

I bought him a bottle of Hendrick's last Christmas which he quite enjoy'd. How's the danish gin then?

it's actually good.

Hendricks is distilled with cucumber btw
quite a few of the oils for Hendricks are added after the initail distilling though :/
still tastes great, or well I for one enjoy it.

other good brands to look for would be,

Citadelle, Heymans Old Tom, Quintessential, whitley neill, Hven.
And I'm told beefeater 24 is worth a go, although, I have yet to try it my self.

and if you want to try a forefather to the drink we today call Gin,
look for oude genever, should be easy to find at any liquor store

nope.

I try everything that I see. Doesn't mean that I have to like it. Those were just two examples of what my palette doesn't like. It's not what it's made of that bothers me. I am not that discriminating. For me, it's like food, taste is everything and that's what it boils down to. So for example if we were in a pub together and you bought me a pint of stone's bitter, i'd politely decline

Just dont understand how you can shut down entire catagories
Sure there are gins that I seriously dislike, but then there are also
those that are well drinkable, and a few that are great. Same holds
true for cognac and brandy, or sherry for that matter, or pastis or absinthe or or .. ...

You know what really wonders me? What bottles there are in olgaline's bar at home.

For me its like, basic whiskey (red label) vodca (russian standard) etc..
Bet i won't recognise any that olgaline has.

- Gins: Whitley Neill, Citadelle, Hven, Hendricks
- Vodkas: Stolichnaya, Belvedere, Absolut, Greenmark
- Tequila: Corralejo, Espalon, Herradura
- misc: Giffard, Midori, Marie brizard, Patron Coffee Xo, Germana, Noilly prat, Lillet...ect

As for Rums and especially whisky..well guilty as charged

Rum makes me sick as soon as I've drunk it, allergic reaction possibly

Not allergic to sugar. I am not sure why it makes me sick, I just get an uncontrollable need to vomit after i drink rum and pep or rum neat. I was assuming the probability there's something in it that is making me ill ;(

I like peppermint though, no problems there...
