Blatant rp-farming

Earlier today, SE shore of Lake Yggdra. Kratt (Uku’s hunter) happened to be stealthed in the area. I just looked at it over his shoulder.

Two characters arrive, Dunderklumpen (lvl 50 skald) and Firehawk (lvl 50 hibernian blademaster, rp’s 420k, 3rd place on hibernian rp top).

They stop. Firehawk kills Dunder. Dunder does not resist, just lets himself get killed. Dunder releases. In a few minutes he is back at skald speed. Firehawk kills Dunder, who again basically lets himself to be ganked. Dunder releases.. You get the picture?

Not quite disgusted enough to report them to GOA. But there goes your reputation.

He was definitely there today. One thing Kratt saw was he had apparently left his guild (no guild name above his head), while when I checked /who Dunder later, it still showed him being in the guild. Apparently /who info is updted only after a person relogs.

Firehawk didnt get that many actually. I logged in my skald and we killed him off at 3rd or 4th iteration. For a 2-man team, he was worth something above 500 rp's.

I talked with Dunder after I asked where Fire is so I could go kill him. He said 'they are testing' and I said 'you mean RP farming' and he said 'yes'. Or something like that.

Saw him kill Dunder maybe 3 times (the death msg). Dunder also said Fire got maybe 100 RPs or something. Beats me really. I've heard stuff that the RP gain drops drastically if you get killed by the same person over and over again.

well I dunno about over and over loads, but killing someone twice doesn't diminish their rps, moriath was worth 638 rps both times I killed him, about 20+ mins apart I guess

dunno about that,it's a big violation of the coc.much worse then any kind of organized duelling with a healer to rezz.

Besides the fact that all owners of 2 accounts should be able to log in 2 chars at once to prove they are not spies, I can't see the problem with buffbots...

I guess it's just jealousy


I'll be damned if someone had showed up at 05:30 to team with me...

I can relay on old trustworthy Medicus to swing his hammer and do the occasional heal

And if you're not only using it for buffs, but actually PLAY both chars at once, this game gets a little more fun too

Buffbots create an imbalance in the game, that's why they suck.
I'm referring to RvR Buffbots here, not PvE which I don't have a problem with at all, even Mythic have admitted that some of the levelling is a little boring.

Well, they pay for it, so.......... i guess its their choice.

I would rather be with 2 people than solo with a buffbot

Buffbots are created because there already is an imbalance in the game. There simply is not enough buffs to go around. Few play healers and shamen active in RvR. We lack ressers, heals and buffs. Buffbot is an attempt to solve one of these problems and in that sense creates better balance. It equalizes the number of available concentration points per character a realm can field.

Only way buffbots cause imbalance is that good bot buffs are actually much better than those of, say a smite specced cleric.

Fire is in my guild. They were testing whether rp farming is possible which it is not. He says this:

Firehawk
1st kill went ok i got 931 rp
2nd kill you have just killed dunderklumpen
3rd the same

Dunder was not res sick or it would have said dunder was killd recently and is worth no experience

So rp farming not possible

I think what he means here is that he got no rps for killing him the 2nd and 3rd times even tho he wasnt res sick. So they were just testing out a theory. So get off ur "OMG!!! REPORT HIM!! BAN HIM!!!" high horses and just leave it. He only got the benefits of 1 kill and i know he doesnt do this often and im sure it wont happen again. He's usually in emain killing people.

And yes we would kick him from our guild if he did this alot.

[edit]: we have punished him and dealt with this matter internally as a guild. GOA really dont need to be notified of this.

erm, if he was doing nothing wrong, why have the guild punished him? And if he WAS doing something which is so blatantly against the CoC, why should he not be reported to GOA?

I don't understand your position - he's been punished for cheating, right? Or was he just punished for testing something?

This is kinda off-topic, but i heard rumour that a certain Bard by the name of Artemissa (!) was spotted nearby when albion recently captured Midgard's relics. It's just a rumour, but it WOULD allow albion to take all 3 relics far faster than otherwise. If it's true, I gotta say I feel pity for all members of the Prydwen community for having to suffer this kinda thing. It would spoil the game not only for the victims, but also for the victors.. how hollow can your triumph feel? (Let's be honest, with their numerical advantage, Albion hardly need to cheat). Let's hope I'm wrong.
