Bladeshade temp +400hps, +24 str +15 con 10/10/8 toa w/ ROD and MS - no uber items

OK, i know im setting myself up with the title of this thread, but i really CBA to farm for zahurs/kraken/levi etc etc etc but want a decent suit for my shade before i start playing her again....

That's an awesome template without using expensive high util jewelry, and I dont think you can reproduce this without using the champ weapon. The resists are definately okay, for now.

They might be considered low once the armor table changes come to the europe servers. You know, when leather becomes 5% vulnerable instead of 15% you might find a lot more people trying to find resist holes in matter/spirit/energy, which you have, acceptable or not I guess it's up to you.

Excellent template for a shade on a budget

My template is alot more expensive ... has similar resists except higher Spirit resist , It also gives 10/10/8 melee bonus 247 qui capped and i run red haste from my full nurture bot ... to say that with the above and running Champ offhand will give gimp swingspeed is retarded as my old template gave 250 qui buffed red haste 8/10/7 melee bonus and used Croc offhand ... and my new template swings faster

Go put those nummbers in a calculator and u will see that is not correct


10% melee spd 4.1/4.0 is not faster swing speed then 4.1/3.5 and 9% melee spd ( 250 qu and red haste on both )

With dual hit haste effect = 1.569096 s/swing

= you hit ~1.4 seconds faster. Add 45* qu debuff, 75* malice qu debuff, and AH speed decrease ( no idea how much this is for )... the result nevertheless will be that ur enemy will hit alot slower then you.

* 9 qu = 1% melee haste.
* And u debuff a buffed target for 130 qu if malice/croc procs wich is 14.4% debuffed melee haste effect.

It's far from a worthless topic considering that ...

Weapon setup as any melee class is based on Dps ... not how fast u hit ... All ure intellectual conversation proves is that u both downloaded a calculater that uses a formula that tells u how often u will swing with mainhand per round

What it doesnt tell u is ...

If u use a faster offhand it speeds up your mainhand swings and thus results in your mainhand doing less damage per swing

Lets say u use Malice main and champ off and u swing once every 1.2 seconds with mainhand and only hit with mainhand for 200 damage ... But u swing with croc offhand every 1.0 seconds But hit for only 150 damage with malice mainhand ...

So say a fight is 15 seconds long ...

Malice+Chmp will hit for (remember u are only hitting with mainhand) 12 swings X 200 damage = 2400 damage
Malice+Croc will hit for (remember u are only hitting with mainhand) 15 swings X 150 damage = 2250 damage

However inaccurate it will give u an idea of all the facts

My main point is ... with red haste from bot ... 250 qui the difference between Champ+Croc offhand speedwise is roughly the same as 1% melee speed ... But more importantly the damage reduction a faster weapon does on your main+offhand is a much bigger issue .

I am 44 Cs Composite 50/51 offhand/mainhand spec and with mopain 3 i can double crit quiet alot ... and when this is considered ... and not just mainhand swing speed ZzzzZZzz U will see a Huge increase in damage during the whole duration of a fight with a slower offhand .

I have used Both as offhands and it all boils down to experience ... Champ weapon being a slower weapon Hits harder and Slows down overall main+offhand swingspeed which sometimes is a good thing .

Malice+Croc will hit for (remember u are only hitting with mainhand) 15 swings X 150 damage = 2250 damage

However inaccurate it will give u an idea of all the facts

My main point is ... with red haste from bot ... 250 qui the difference between Champ+Croc offhand speedwise is roughly the same as 1% melee speed ... But more importantly the damage reduction a faster weapon does on your main+offhand is a much bigger issue .

I am 44 Cs Composite 50/51 offhand/mainhand spec and with mopain 3 i can double crit quiet alot ... and when this is considered ... and not just mainhand swing speed ZzzzZZzz U will see a Huge increase in damage during the whole duration of a fight with a slower offhand .

I have used Both as offhands and it all boils down to experience ... Champ weapon being a slower weapon Hits harder and Slows down overall main+offhand swingspeed which sometimes is a good thing .

1st of all, its not 1% melee spd diffrence between 4.1+3.5 and 4.1+4.0 spd.

2ndly your mainhand dmg cap isnt crippled b/c u wield a faster offhand, but ur unspecced offhand hit is.

So all ur eucations are inaccurate when it comes to calculating DPS from dual wield.

Dual wield haste bonus works like this:

4.1 main 3.5 off. You will hit at 4.1 spd ( + whatever modifers you have that decreases ur swing spd ) untill you strike with ur offhand and the hit after that you will gain an increased attack speed 4.1+3.5/2 = x, this is a bonus you get for wielding a faster offhand weapon.

The only thing you loose is the damage diffrence between an unstyled hit from a 4.0 and a 3.5 speed weapon wich isn't enough to make it worth loosing rougly 6% over ( 54 qu over 1% melee haste = 9 qu).

The question when it comes down to CW or croc is the melee spd bonus effect+croc qu debuff vs 10% slash resists and a minsor 25 value fatigue debuff ( almost all melee classes got 105-110 fatigue due to GoV )

Why 44 CS?

I went 50 CS to max my mainhand damage when using styles, taking CD to 35 ( if ur auto ) instead of 28 would only mean 3.5% higher offhand swing rate - anything above 50-55% should make the luck factor less of a problem.


Just curious above is my reasoning to go 50 cs

It's a blade temp, and getting 101 dex would be like 2-3% higher chance to evade wich isn't enough to sacrifice other bonuses over,like +hits/con and af/resists.

As for not going 50 cs ... imo having higher Offhand spec gives larger chance of hitting with offhand ... ok only afew percent ... but hitting and critting with both weapons with mopain 3-4 does more dps that stlong baseline mainhand swings with or without crits ... 50 cs spec is restricted by mainhand damage cap ... my spec is not and allows for more damage potential <3

But a Strong Main hand that crits alot is better than 2 weak swings critting.
