I fed the guide to my creature as she angered me intensely.

I have a lot of issues with BnW. My initial reaction was its a good idea spoiled by the user interface from hell. Now I've played it for about a week, my current reaction is.....its a good idea ruined by the user interface from hell. Ah well, gives me a good excuse to finally start System Shock 2 I suppose. Playing that after finishing Deus Ex might be a big mistake.......

Black and white isn'y what youd expect its true the viallge management is annoyingly hard, but you dont have to do it you can ignore it. The only reason for listening to your villagers is to be a good god -which is incredibly hard to mantain.

I feel the dark side calling em as my resource management skills stretch only as far as C&C

The user interface is shit but thanbkfully you can assign keys to do the moveing. I wish there was a free look button, maybe there is i havn't looked for one yet.

I use arrowkeys as forwards etc Del and pagedoen as rotate, shift and ctrl as zoom and the mose to do some other movements.

It is nice though, not haveing the screen crammed with HUD's

My monkey crashed. After fighting the big bear it just stood there and wouldn't react to the leash, food or a sheep in bikini!

Had to restart the game with new animal. Bugger.

Well I've just had a 2 hour session and have to say it seems good and I find the UI alright even if it is a little complex

If it crashes (creature freeze) use the shortcut keys to load your last autosave, anyway tehir is a patch coming soon to fix this issue.

Sturty, how the hell did you get your creature to breakdance? Very impressive, and looks a right laugh! Bet the villagers were right impressed as well.

Apparently, the ability for your creature to dance to a CD you put in the cd-drive was left out of the retail version, among several other small things, and will be added as a patch/addon. Weird, because Lionhead released that Dancing Bear plugin for Winamp a couple of months ago.

Anyone had their creature do something really stupid/out of character yet? The AI is supposedly capable of some very advanced behaviour.

I saw a little demo a while back, where an Ape was playing against a Lion in a stone throwing game. The lion kept kicking the Ape's ass at the game, and the Ape got annoyed...

So he cast a fire spell on a rock in the Lions pile of rocks, then laughed his Ass off when the Lion picked it up and burnt himself.

Fuck me thats some clever AI.

All this "poor UI" stuff is a bit steep - play around with the control method for a while.

I use the mouse for moving the hand, the right button for actions, and the keyboard for moving. Nice and simple.

Yeah I got the movement down by land 2, I am l33t at it now

Easy test is if you can do the guru challenge on land 3 in a few attempts, If not go to the gods playground and practice. I aint listing the keyboard shortcut here, cause I bought the game and wish to punish thoose who got it other ways.

The Ui rocks! When I get my new kit and cure the FPS problem its going to rock even more! No more bindings and gfx tweaks or timenudge crap. You read the readme about the Ui yet? Some links in there about the future of Immersion controls.

You all probably know by now but they're releasing a new patch wotch should be good. It will include:

*The game don't crash and will work for more people
*The creatures breakdance
*Villagers play footy if they are relaxed
*You can make custom creature skins for multiplayer
*You can have a LAN game with only 1 CD
*A level entitled Sandbox with no computer enemies
*A level editor to create and edit levels (WICKED )
*Lots more stuff I can't remember
