People should not be put off (or scared off) from asking genuine, innocent questions about other people, for example I would like to know why muslims and jews don't eat pork but I am a bit nervious of asking this question...not because I think a muslim or a jew would be cross with me (actually I think they would be helpful and answer the question) but because of some white PC brigade cruisader screaming at me and saying how racially ignorant I am and accusing me of making them feel uncomfortable etc etc.

Um..wrong, I never took anyone into slavery. If you want to use that as an argument then how the hell do we stand with Germans?? OK, so ofc I'm not an expert in Muslim religion, but this is what I found so far:

Suren 16:115 prohibits the eating of everything that died by itself, blood, porc and everything where another name than the name of Allah was …ehm … called out above? Sorry my English is a bit bad there I think it means meat that was consecrated to other gods for example.

Suren 5:3 is basically the same, but also states the prohibition of things that were strangled or beaten to death and things that fell down somewhere or were pushed down somewhere and died and things where predators already started eating.

BUT then again, Suren 5:4 states, that everything is allowed, that trained predators hunted for people, as long as they call out the name of Allah above it. I must say, I don't quite understand that part.

Now I also read, that the Sunnites and the Shiites have different laws about which animals are allowed or forbidden, because they interpret the Koran in different ways.

I hope this helped a little, but as I said, I don't know much about the Islam and I'm much more proficient with the Bible =)
