It's looking like a must-play tbh. The lowest review score I've seen it get is 9/10, a *lot* of reviewers have given it full marks...

Never sure why B1's opening is given so much credit, I found it to be utterly lifeless and dull. Swim for a bit. Get in a lift. Was definitely the weakest aspect of it IMO.

Hopefully should be getting this sometime soon, looking forward to it. Finished second playthrough of Dishonored just in time.

I agree.

I completed it but it was just so linear and all the enemies were the same :(

The setting, the music, the trip down to Rapture all made for one of the best game openings ever.

If anybody has a spare XCom code from Pre-ordering, I'd be indebted to you!

I had to fiddle with the FOV a bit as it was making me a bit sick, first time I have ever had to do that. Other than that, really nice looking. The water and other DX effects are stunning.

Its very cinematic and the story so far is good but the combat is just so-so, I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it's missing the atmosphere of the other two, I don't know.

Although Columbia is a great city you just can't beat Rapture for the atmosphere. I played number 1 last week and I feel the combat in this is a lot tighter.

Yeah it is but in the other two and the first especially it was quite scary, the enemy were insane on the whole, in this (so far) I have only seen plod, just kill and move on.

I swear to titty fondling jesus that if EA had made that "season pass" thing it'd been ripped apart by players.

The words "season pass" were decisive in my decision to pass on spunking my money on it.

EA has the "Premium Edition" for BF3 which is basically the same thing as a "season pass" and no doubt that it will return for BF4.

I can still remember when EA claimed they were never doing expansion packs for BF again as they split up the community. When BFBC2 vietnam was released and the BF3 DLCs were planned they must have forgotten their former "promises".

Cant remember the last game that affected me as much, fantastic game.

When Elizabeth get's taken by the Songbird and you can hear her through the rifts, I was getting properly angry and upset - I hadn't killed any innocents so far but the two scientists beside the generators got shot :p

True it's far more linear than the original but it does kind of make sense with the theme of fate and predetermination

Just over half way through I think, really "meh" about this so far.

It looks lovely. Really beautifully styled. But the plot is very meh and the combat is very poor. It feels really dumbed down. Just two weapons? The way battles are staged now means you don't need to think tactically at all, unlike the first two. The respawn system means it just makes no difference what you do in battle.

Hoping it picks up and I'm sure the plot will get a little better but at the moment I'm just playing it to complete it and see the game, rather than because I'm captivated and enjoying it.

Just about every game that comes out now a days has a 'season pass' attached to it. I don't have a problem, if it means I get all the DLC i want marginally cheaper, then great.

Reckon this is just down to the difficulty level. I played through on medium, and only in a couple of firefights towards the end did I have to play tactically, making the most of tears, skylines, and scavenging weapons mid-combat. Rest of the game I sauntered through just using two weapons.

Was talking to a mate the other day about scary games and despite being a big lad he just cannot play scary games, he couldn't finish either of the other two bioshock games but was enjoying this one...

I haven't got the heart to tell him about the last bit in the dorms, proper put the willies up me that did... especially that bit where the wheel chair rolls out with a head on it.
