lots of different types. Most common is a CD image, and is normally associated with a .cue file to tell the CD writing app what mode to write it in. You can force some software to write without a .cue if you know what mode to use etc.

.bin is also the extension for AVG virus updates, IIRC.

Nero Burning Rom is probably your easiest & best bet. Though it does cost.

If you only have the .bin file, most of the time it is possible to mount it on your pc in say alcohol 120% or Daemon tools. Then just copy the cd as you would normally copy a cd but from the virtual drive you just mounted it on. If there is a .cue file with it, use alcohol 120% to burn it as i think its the best cd burning app available. Just select the cue in alcohol and it will do the rest. Im assuming its not a bios file as 700 meg is pretty standard in norty game images per disc. And it would be a rather large bios file too :)

it's not just warez which use that filetype redvenom. I've downloaded a linux distro from sun before now as cue/bin. The only thing you're highlighting is your own knowledge of common warez-y file formattage.

I seem to recall that one can rename the extension to 'iso' and just treat them as a normal iso image (i.e. use isobuster to read them or Nero etc, to burn them).

I'm sure I've done this in the past.
