sorry, what was that? my mind just created an image so horrible that I must have passed out for a second in self preservation :(

Hehe

One ride I did up in the Lakes was the Ambleside and Longdale Pikes, Old Man of Consiton. There is really some great riding in the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales :)

My mate wants us to do Grizedale (haven't had chance yet, probably next week now), or Kielder. Kielder looks spiffy :)

I think the trouble with some hybrid bikes is that they don't keep up with your level of fitness. At first it might seem you can't select top gear as it too high but when you get fit it can become too low and your legs can't go fast enough. As long as the frame is big enough for your body and there are sufficient higher geared cogs you can buy then they are great fun. You can have a hell offa work out on a bike whilst combining off road and on road cycling as long as your gearing is ok. Horrible though when your top gear is too low and you are only cycling in bursts on the road. Sounds like you have a real winner there in your choice of bike though.

Only recently had a great few hours with a mate of mine - up a forestry track for about 2 hours and got lost but hell it was such a laugh trying to make our way down the mountain side following streams. We headed for home after reaching civilization along normal roads for about 25-30 mile all in. Only problem was my lack of a higher gearing and I couldn't keep up with my mate on the flat. Apart from that it was sheer bliss :D. What a great way to relax or let your hair down apart from drinking.
