Anyone been having these today?i mean HUGE lagspikes for like 1 minute or more and you can't even move it's that bad?

I get them bad in SI areas, I didn`t used to, been like it for weeks.

I got very much lag in Aegirs standing next to the shaman trainer.. (wonder why)

What graphix card are you on? One of the reasons that I don't play very often now is that I lag like mad in SI areas. As such it's not worth my while doing much there as I can't group and XPing is dangerous.
I've been looking into it being my card (geForce 4200ti 128) and have found out that it's probably one of:
- overheating
- knackered RAM (card or PC)
- knackered card
I'm currently trying to see if it's the overheating option, as I tend to run alright for 10 miniutes and then the 'fun' kicks in.
Let me know if you get a chance, as all info is useful.

nope no lag. But there is normaly a hugh amount of lag for a few days right after a patch day for reason

I talked to a "pro" about the problems with ti4x00 series and overheating. Because of the size of the card and the amount of heat it generats it might be the gfx card that pulls down your pc. I'v read in a few places that there has been some problems with the heatsink on some of the ti4x00 series and that the best thing to do is get a new card if you are unlucky. But the "pro" (works in one of the best comuter stores in this town, they make computers for every thing from companies to designers) I talked to said that I hadent hear anything about a problem with the heatsink, but he would not rule it out. How ever if you have an old motherboard and chipset the powerfull ti4x00 cards might help over heat the cpu or other things on your motherboard and thus greating a problem
So the best thing you can do is to try and download a benchmark tester and make a strees test on your system.
Run on infinit loops with your current set up and see when the problem a rise. Also if you can get to try with another card of the same "power" and strees your system with that card in.
Dont know if it'll help you or anything, but its worth a shot.

Thanks for that Gromnir, I'll give the stress test a go. It shouldn't be the PC as it's on a P4, 2.4, which I'd hope was sufficient. I'm only on 512 Ram, which I was considering doubling but wanted to check the card first. If it comes to the worst then I'll replace the card, they're a lot cheaper now thankfully

Just had it again now,logged in lagged for 1min then a message came up:

Someone please help this so isn't funny ,my friend said it may be because my gfx card is very new and not fully supported for the game yet.(geforce fx5900 ultra) Though it plays any other game very good but mass fps slowdown not being able to move or type has happened a few times in this.
Anyone got any advice or anyone using geforce fx5900 ultra too?

Only mention I could find on the Herald site is this :-

It`s some form of geforce 64, soz I can`t be to specific, but in rvr its lag free 99% of the time, just certain areas in SI give me permanent yellow triangle.

I was talking to yelisar the other day, and she said she cannot play daoc atm as her screen is nearly black, all other games are ok though??
