I hope its not like the last one where they said they had found a life form that lived off arsenic, then it turned out it didn't.

They've found intelligent life after giving up trying to find it in the USA.

Why do they have to announce they're having an announcement? This is 2017, do they really need to drag a bunch of bloggers and Journos down to JPL like its 1973?

Is everyone forgetting the cringeworthy discovery of alien microbes in meteorites from Mars by that fat English chick, Clinton announced it like the second coming.
Then everyone went...nope.

hmmm interesting. that said, things that make organisations like NASA and CERN go "ooh this is AMAZEBALLS" most often make the rest of us plebs think "oh, ooook then" and go back to playing pokémon.

Have they managed to find Donald Trumps brain using their massive Telescope?

On a more serious note, it's clearly just going to be another "We've found another Earth! we just can't get there for another 500 years :D"

Microscope more like. Telescopes detect huge things at long distances. Although I doubt even Hubble could screen out all the fake tan applied to the Dorito.

I hatched a Mareep and a Larvitar just now! And I caught a Skarmory at home yesterday.

I just hope it's worth the whole 'we are announcing something in 2 days'

not just as @BloodOmen says, we've found another possible planet with water too far away for us to even contemplate sending a probe or anything to.

If it's not "We've found an Alien species that are similar to our Earthen females but they have 6 tits" I'll be disappointed in NASA for wasting valuable resources and for building up @Edmond hopes.

There are 16 x 10²¹ stars out there.

One of those trillions of stars will have a planet, like ours, with life. And on one of those planets there might, just might, be someone who can get a decent signal on O2

I was with you, right up to that last bit.

Agree with space, but if time travel was even possible it'd be key to us destroying everything that ever existed ever :)
