BG2 - Empty?

Hi all

Another newbie Q - why is it that BG1 and BG3 are popular (given the number of posts on each), but BG2 seems to be the "forgotten middle child" of the DAOC world! :)

It used to be only thidranki that was popular, but after a fair few attempts to bring bg3 to life it actually worked. No one can be bothered to do the same with bg2 me thinks.

Does the XP provided by the medals not provide sufficient incentive to take the keep? E.G., if the realm really is empty, then presumably a couple of fgs from either of the realms which dont currently hold it could stroll in and capture?

Or am I missing something else (probably!) :)

Well I too have asked the question.. why not go??
The only answer is cos no-one does..!! Im sure if people ignored the myth ( well it is true ,no-one goes cos they told not to), and gave it a spin it might become OK ? Im gonna go for a wander there now why not...

The only real answer is that BG1 is the most fun, and currently the easiest/quickest to get into, also at that level (20-24) it's fun because there are less things like Mezz, See Hidden, all that sort of stuff to worry about, all chars have a pretty even chance, which is why it is such fun.

BG3 is also pretty good, you get some good fights in there, and when you cap out you get RR2, which gives +1 to your skills, as well as some more RA to spend, so a lot of people will make the effort to go through BG3, as it makes levelling from 35+ that bit easier. (e.g by the end of BG3, my Thurg will have MCL, Aug Acuity 2 and serenity 1, with 2 RA towards the 3 needed for serenity 2, as well as the +1 to skills)

BG2 is a bit of an oddity, in so much as you don't get RP as fast as in BG3, and when you cap out you don't hit the RR2 level so no incentive there either. For a lot of people it is just quicker to level up to BG3 (30-35) and get some RP there instead, I think.

This may change when the medallions come in, but they are not here as yet, and also there will be another BG for levels 15-19.

It are called Abermenai, for levels 15-19, and the RP cap is R1L3 (125 points).

Noone visits BG2 for the same reason not many go to BG3, everyone thinks it is empty, so it stays that way :eek:

Can't see the point in BG2 anyway, it's easier to just level to 35 and go to Caledonia, where people mostly know what they're doing and don't run around in packs of 45 all the time.

Elite, didnt know there was a 15-19 bg ;D (bet its yanks only atm ;/)

Anyways if it is here/when it gets here will be fun not getting PA'd by those scummy infiltwinkers
