Found the BFG 6800 GT OC for £267 at PCWorld Component Centre of all places! Is this a good price? Does anyone know if the Lifetime warranty applies in the UK?
I bought my BFG Tech for £280 from PC World a couple of months back, so it looks like it's gone down in price. However, they've been out of stock for god knows how long because they sold like hot cakes. AFAIK, the warranty applies in the UK.
Bought my BFG 6800 Ultra from pcwcomponent center. I had excel;lent service from them. Order tracking was a breeze and gave me a lot of confidence in them. The BFG card works fine and with a lifetime warrenty.
I believe the TechReport ran a heavily loaded Shuttle system (Athlon 64 3500+, 1GB of DDR400, and a 10K-RPM Raptor) for a fair few hours running intensive benchmarks without problem, using the 240W PSU in the SN95G5. I also seem to recall a high-end Shuttle running benchmarks for 72 hours nonstop without trouble. My own 6800-based Shuttle system has a fair few things installed and still manages fine on a 220W PSU.
Naturally the BFG card is overclocked and comes with some serious bespoke cooling, so that should be factored in, but I believe it should all still fit, albeit snuggly. N.B. cooling aside, all 6800 circuit boards (I presume the 6800 LE too) are the same size, equivalent to the previous GeForce FX 59x0 cards.
