Bookies void bets like that every day. You go into the shop, ask for 5/1 on Dogs Balls in the 15.20, get it, then after the race they say "no, sorry, we decided it was too good a bet so we've voided it, fuck you".

Betfair had a bona fide technical cockup and (in accordance with the rules & regs) voided the market due to a blatantly obvious error.

The problem is that any time they are set to lose big they can just say it was a technical cockup - thats fine in theory but it destroys their reputation.

The tldr with betfair is that their customers are now punters to fleece, not customers to provide a service.
They need a fundamental attitude change to turn it around.

I think I've said enough about BF in the past anyway, don't really see the need to pile on here as it seems one of their more legitimate fuck ups.
