best thane spec for d0rf?

or 39 hammer, 42 shield, 48 SC, 15 parry

explain your specs plz

I was wondering if the 50sc, 42shield 39weapon template is sufficent...not really sure how those item and rr-bonuses add to damage dealt tho...

At the moment Im 42shield, 44hammer and 46sc.

I respeced to 50 SC, 39 axe, 42 shield, 6 parry after the patch, tbh I love it, I kill 70% more in rvr than I used to.

The way I see my thane is stick to healer and guard/slam tanks going for them and interupt enemy casters with insta DD. Now the added bonus of being able to help our casters dish out some damage without breaking multiple mez.

My piety is poor so next step is to cap it, I have 50+9 in SC atm and do about 170 - 270 damage per DD. Maybe wont appeal to all of you but our so called "tank" class cant soak up or dish out decent damage to be worthwhile in combat, even with 42 weapon imo. Not at sub rr5 anyway.

The level 50 str/con buff is poor but i really didnt do it for that, i cant recall any of my DD's being resisted since patch.

I respecced from 44 hammer, 42 shield, 46 SC to 42 hammer, 42 shield and 48 SC to get thors lightning.

And i wouldnt go 50 SC, because theres ALMOST always a shaman around with 30'ish aug, and that is enough to overwrite the thane str/con.

I wouldnt lower hammer to 39, as said, we arent minstrels

Self Str/Con is so not worth working a spec around.

48 for last DD (Yes its worth it)
42 for Slam
rest in weapon (42) as parry is overrated and we already suffer from rogue weaponskill, we need as much Weaponspec as possible
Leaves you with 0 points spare, how efficient

Oh yeah, I forgot that people only make chars to be uber and not to have fun. OMFG someone who makes a char to have fun and not to only to own everyone but spec it as she enjoys

Heard from someone that +SC doesn't do shit at all (+1 if SC = +1 in pie he said)

Oi u phat troll TPT is not just "someone" u vile mouthed heathen

Noone with any sense puts any +SC on their SC suit, unles sur Kephan with too much money flowing between his ears and lots of uber TG items

+SC only really effects variance, and with 48 +4 (RR only) i get zero variance on my nukes in RvR.

Put it this way, damage wise +1 SC == +1 Pie.

Considering +1 SC costs 5-6times as much as +1 Pie you know where the money is eh

And yes Thanes are one of the bottom feeders of the Class tables but they aint THAT lame, a well kitted out and specced thane with a few RR can kick arse.

Too many thanes forget themselves and think they are a tank, fgs just cos u get shield spec dont make u a tank, your a rogue with shield spec and chain armour and a ranged spell, dont get above your station.

Thanes play the guard role very well in RvR, engage melee late, use your ranged spells to protect healers/casters whilst still dishing out some damage (and yes nuking for 160-200 consistently is acceptable damage for a hybrid with NO caster RA's)

I was 46/44/42 : SC/Hammer/Shield, but I respecced a while back to 50/42/39 : Hammer/Shield/SC, but then I don't RvR much and this spec is better for the PvE that I mainly do.

Am tempted to try and go back to full 2H spec that I was many many moons ago, but I love slam too much for that
