Best tank Realm skills to buy?

Hi, can you ppl help me? Im totally confused about what realm skills to respec to.

I have a lvl 50 hero that will aim for RvR. I have 13 skill points which soon will be 20.

currently I have bought ( dont hit me pls. i know it sucks! )
aug dex 2
Tireless 1
Regen 1
aug con 1
tough 1 ( the 3% hp one )
master of block 1
master of parry 1

I tend to think that master of block and parry works fine. In PvE I block/parry a LOT. I can fight 3 blue con mobs and noone ever hits me. But this is bugged in RvR ( will be fixed sometime soon )

Im thinking purge gets 2 pts when it gets cheap. perhaps determination gets 1 or 2 lvls ( 3 pts ). That spends 5 of my 20.. what to do with the rest?

first aid 2 lvls and then ignore pain is one option. but it sound very expensive.. What is your recomendation if you have 20 pts to spare.

how will you respec?

These will let you actually fight in RvR, and in 1.53 they will get cheap :)

Rest is just xtra.

those are the things u should spend it on imo, maybe even aug str 1-2 but not really needed. I wouldnt spend my points in MoParry or MoShield since it only work against other tanks and they shouldnt be a issue really, better put points in resists against the mages.

Im all passive now untill they fix Fa2 or maybe even till 1.53 when IP and purge gets cheaper.

well will post what i got now:

Silver Hand (R6 L5)
Total Points: 55 Unused Points: 1

(1) Augmented Strength +6 str
(2) Augmented Dexterity +12 dex
(3) Mastery of Pain +15 % chance of critical hit
(2) Augmented Constitution +12 con
(2) Toughness +6 % max hp
(2) Avoidance of Magic +6 % to all magic resists
(2) Determination -30 % mez/stun/root duration
(2) First Aid +60 % heal, 15min timer, not in combat
(1) Ignore Pain 100% heal, 30min timer, any time

When 1.53 comes IP cost is lowered with 6 points, and with those points i get back i will buy determination lvl 3 and Purge.

MoP is by far the best RA yet considering what i payed for it, i crit a ton. Just ask poor Gerula how often he get hit for 800 :p

i used to have fa2/ip/purge in, but they are too expensive and changed quite a while back. fa2 is utterly useless, IP is far too espensive and purge is also too expensive.

well the RAs i plan on geting eventualy (i will have only 3 points left after those- points to put in wathever gets my fancy) are :

1. Mastery of Pain 3
2. Mastery of Block 3
3. Mastery of Parry 3
4. Augmented Dexterity 3
5. Augmented Strength 3
6. Toughness 3
7. Determination 3
8. Avoidance of Magic 3
9. FA 2
10. IP
11. Purge

(hope i didn't forget anything :))
Keep in mind this is thought out for a shield hero...subject to change ;p

Thank you very much for your input! you guys sure have an awesome amount of RPs.. Ill never get close to that ( I think ).. Ill try to decide what to spend my puny amounts on though.. Got a lot of ideas. thanks!

RAs will get cheaper for tank in next patch (about 14days from now).

A new tank RA is introduced (Prevent Flight) and a few gets cheaper to get (Determination, Purge and IP) and a few will get sorted (Fa, determination, mastery of blocking and parry).

With 20RAp (61.750 rp) i would go for:

* Fa lvl2 (3+6RAp) - it is needed to get IP and will heal for 600 after patch.
* Ignore Pain (8RAp) - Saves you every 30min and is now cheaper.
* Determination lvl2 (1-2RAp) - Its passive and cheap, reduces root/stun/snare/mezz with 30% (get purge later, the 3RAps are better here at the start)

With the above you will live longer and be able to engage in battle sooner. Later you should go for Offensive (and more expensive RAs).

When we patch my RA spec will be:

Fa lvl2
IP
Determination lvl3
Aug. Dex. lvl2
MoP lvl2
Prevent Flight

Why:
I cant live without IP, Saves me again and again. Determination will be sorted, so 45% reducement in mezz/root/snare/stun speaks for it self. Mastery of Pain rules, already at lvl1 you will feel the difference and at lvl2 you crit. hit quite often

"Prevent Flight" = If the tank's selected target turns and runs, the tank has a 35% chance of hitting and proccing a 50% snare for 10 seconds.

Well i use a lot of time running after mages that don't like my long pointy stick, if it works it will really reduce my time to kill em - so i can get to next target.... Gonna try it :)

Later when i get more points to spend it will go to higher MoP, higher determination and Avoidance of Magic (in that order)..

A little note:

My own opinion of Mastery of Arms:

Why not?? Bloody expensive (aug. str. lvl3 = 10RAp) and then 1 3 6 10 14 for 1, for 3% attackspeed reducement. I am using a 5,5sec weapon, so first lvl of MoA (11RAp) will reuce speed with 0,165sec which means 5,335 attack speed - i think its expensive and as i kill most target in 3 swings it really aint helping much. at lvl3 it will be down to 5.005sec and 20RAps used :(...... - saved time for 3 swings is about 1,5sec = nothing special

Seems to be a bit of misinformation here.

RAs get cheaper in 1.53.

Purge = 10pts (4pts in 1.53)
IP = 14pts (8pts in 1.53)
Determination = 1/3/6/10/14 (1/2/3 in 1.53)

Block and parry get 'fixed' in 1.52 so Mastery of Blocking/Parry are finally worth the points invested in them.

As for the whole IP question, its a saviour every 30 minutes. Welcome to the world of the Blademaster :)

As it is now, purge is way to expencive to waste points in imo. All tank classes should get IP asap, have saved me tons of times. If you got up both moose and ip, you're enemies will have a hard time to make you hit the ground :D Determination is allso very handy for great mez/stun/root time reduce. And as you get more RPs just fill up with aug str, con, dex, qui, thoughtness etc :m00:

Oh dear. I used planned how to spend all my realm points for my Firby Blademaster using camelot herald. Purge only costs 4 on there??????? Is there a site that shows the current Euro server version realm abilities?

I had planned to put

4 points into purge
6 points into first aid
8 points into ignore pain
6 points into Aug Dex
14 Points into Bladance
14 points into quick
another 8 points into dex
10 points into trip
14 points into grapple
6 points into dodger
10 points into strength

This woulda used the 100 i would get eventually one day in about 5 years.

Any comments on that above as well as the site for the current euro server abilities much appreciated.

Zarko, why would u need Prevent flight when we got Hunter's Boon?

Waisting 14 points for something that "might" go off seems odd to me.

Zarko, re: mastery of arms.. i was going to take aug str to 3 anyway, thus after doing so the cheapest points/effect in any skill i could spend after that was in MoA. (2 levels)

actually missing couple of points for mop3 then will go for sum moparry toughness2 etc etc and mb, if mythic bothers to fix champ specific RA id save points for it (pbaoe dding 150sh dmg each 15 mins aint worth 10 RA points imo.

But ofc lofff is on vacation since long ago and am a caster so i shouldnt b posting here :p

btw prevent flight shouldnt exist... i made an hibryd tank just bcoz of its versatility... if theyr gonna give "snare" to main tanks their fugging retards.

I use it like mad (Hunter's boon), does work wonders!

Maybe i have it all wrong. But "Prevent Flight":

Thought it would be a "ranged" thing, if it aint, i see no point in getting it and i see no point in Mythic making that RA - all spec lines has a "short duration stun" move.

If i need to actually hit my target before i can get the proc, why should they make that RA, when you got Trip and Grapple that are cheaper and can root/snare all in the area (pbaoe)??

Allways had it, as CS: Hunter's boon, LW: Annihalation, S/S: lvl42 shield stun.

Wanna nerf that??

You think they are retards because a Champ should hit as hard as a haro and also have: Str/con debuff, Dex/qui debuff, Attack speed debuff, DD, Snare - all if em shouts

And with next patch even 75 str/con self buff!!!

Take away all your shouts and tell me the diff. between Champion and Hero, damage output!!

If you got/need the aug. str. lvl3 - i would also use 1 point there (MoA), but the extra damage i get from 6str is not much, its about 3-4 dam more to my max dam. cap.

ps: snare and melee stun are 2 preety different things (altho u might use snare + stun) debuffs are plain shit. Only worked as they were at the begining (129str/con debuff etc etc) and as a champ ud nerf ur tanking/meleeing skillz to improve ur lousy "casterside" with RAs.

ps2: Selfbuff? yes will rock, but still tell me how many times are u in a rvr group and not fully buffed? Dont need to say champ-hero differences tho...

i just say mythic is screwing it all again... there are tons a "chargued" itamz and u can do ur own ones soon with the new crafting specs.

Charged itamz (debuffs, dds, ...) + 24/7 snare RA > Champ casterside versatility.

So champs get the nerfstick beat again. (not directly this time)

Maybe champ aint nerfed - more heroes get to a lvl where they are as good as any rest of the melee bunch!?

This was done for a reason, don't think they nerf the "tanks" for a few patches, actually expect more Tank loving.
