Hello there!

Just joined FH (great site btw!) - have played DaoC quite a bit befor but now I have Trials of Atlantis I am a bit gobsmacked at all the raids that go on!

I used to be a bit anoyed when I went on with big groups when they were not organised properly and everyone got angry and nothing got done, so I was wondering as a n00b if any1 could tell me who they tink are really good Raid organisors?

I don't want to know who peeps think are BAD raid leaders coz I don't want my first thread to end up as an argument! But if anyone has been on Raids with people who really know what they are doing in getting people organised and running a Raid well, then I would realy appreciate it if you could say so here and what you thought made it such a good raid.

Thankx for all ur help FH people - I don't want my first Atlantis Raids to put me off so i hope u understand why I have posted this!

I haven't been on too many Raids organised by other people, but I have always been impressed by the way Bubble organises Raids... particularly where large groups of unruly Albs have to be kept in hand :D

But don't take my word for it... Bubbles' regular Dragon Raids have always proved extremely popular, and I doubt this would be the case if they weren't so well run.

TLW (if you like them or not doesn't matter) have some great raidleader. I have been on great raids from Stanleycup too (just one was realy annoying ;) ). And if you are interested in rvr-raids, Mokas is doing some nice realmdefence and Thya aswell. That are all I remember now, but there will be some more I think  .

Alot of people have stepped up to help people with ML raids, anyone who is willing to to divote time and effort to helping others deserves this title.
Gryllus has lead meny public raids, Jenkz and Linnet come to mind as people who have lead massive ML raids and lived to lead them again :)
(/hugs Nee for leading 50 people into a wall of Fire :p) Soulfly used to lead lots and lots of Sidi raids and has lead a few public ML raids too. Cayote was probley albions best raid leader before he left :(

I'm sure there loads i've missed.

Cayote's, Yussef's, SoulFly's and Seksual's raids are/were always great.

To be honest, i have had alot more fun on Bubble's Dragon raids than any other. They are well structured and of course well balanced.

Been on many a raid in my time, so it is a honour to mention Bubble.

Liste's raids were always fun! To the original poster: Albion has a lot of competent raid leaders (= can run a successful raid without losing their mind or their temper).

tbh, we've always had maps/ walkthroughs from the Americans, which makes it much easier.

Delket's dragon raids were fun.

Old SotL guildraids even more fun.

Haven't been on a huge amount of large scale raids since joining Alb, been spending most of my time so far getting first pally then cabby to 50. Am now in process of outfitting cabby and getting MLs for him so joining more.

Impressed with Bubble on the one raid I've been on, and Mairghead is very good organiser for PvE raids, putting lots of prep in beforehand.

Laird always did great raids, too bad most of them where a complete fiasco ;)
Still Laird's raids must have been the most entertaining ones i've ever seen.
As for effeciency, the old Delket, Soulfly, the old Liste, Bubble,TLW in general and a few of Flesh's Sidi raids for PvE.

There're a few decent raid leaders, but with a raid lead by Cayote or Yussef, you know it won't be a cock-up. Cayote liked to do things first and he set the standard for some of the raids still happening... and leading ML4.2 raids with over 200people must be very demanding. Those first few ML4.2 raids took alot of patience and research, two things a good raid leader needs. I say Cayote, because 'Delket' still reminds me of Salisbury giants causing havok in Camelot hills :p

After reading the book "How to lose friends and piss everyone off", he's certainly qualified to do what he does ;)

There's more to being a good raid leader, than simply knowing what to do. Maybe my expectations are a little high, but I'd at least want to know the loot will be lotto'd fairly and not have the reaid leader take what he wants and lotto the rest. Anyway, I was banned from Flesh's raids last year, so I can't really comment on them.

imo, for someone to be a good public raid leader, they:
- should know what they're doing(having researched in advance and have relevant maps/locs ready)
- shouldn't discriminate against classes
- should keep clam and answer every query directed at them
- shouldn't have sychophantic delusions
- should split the loot fairly, and not keep the best drops for themselves
- shouldn't become abusive towards the raiding party
- should keep a sense of control throughout the raid, to keep morale up oO

There're alot of competent raid leaders in Albion who display these qualities. Linnet had a good run of ML raids which were well done, and I was on an ML3 raid led by Jenkz which went very smoothly.
