yup, gained nearly enough to do lvl3 missions in Caldari and have had some funny readings on FH, coupled with a couple beers and some silence and life is.. perfect.

grinding missions is teh boooring . declaring war on a newb mining corp and farming them > missions!

gonner join a corp in around a month when i got me basic skills done. Electronics and such ftl.. :<

then its time for le pvp for the first time, im actually even excited and looking forward to it

missions arent really so bad imo, they are easy and require very little at least.

gets a lot harder at L3 and esp L4, problem is that if you get stuck in grinding skills its hard to get out of it. the "one more" syndrome

even with a few days of skills you're good to go for pvp in the right situation either way, corp = good!

yerp, sucks that there are so many guys with years of skill advantage and fuck all you can do about it. eve would have been fun to play from release, even with little content back then, but joining now is just zzz ;/

It was damn funny. Like the first two years or so. Content was player made, the first alliance wars with the fall of TTI and the (Old) Venal Alliance. Space Invaders' Archain making the first EVE movies and Setec ransoming people for ISK. m0o camping Mara/Passari and the former community manager Pann asking to ban them all for slaughtering too many people and making them cry.

2 skilled pilots with a Blackbird and an Armageddon for example could dominate a small fleet. Setup and tactics knowledge was kept secret and were not shared so easily.

Once upon a time you would jump into a solar system with your Megathron and other pilots in local would scream "it's Molly, flee!" and everybody left would be slaughtered for sure.

I remeber a night where we had a small gang of 8 or so and we ran out of ammunition in deep space killing waves and waves of Xetic alliance Battleships.

The server was best with 3-8k players on it in my opinion. You had solid solo action, good small gang action, some alliance wars in Fountain and Curse. After a while the game turned into a blobbing and ISK contest to its bad.

Reason I left was instant jump bookmarks and log off exploits and to be honest the death penalty. Being a former Space Invaders and Corp 1 member with a high profile dog fight repuation led more and more to me being outnumbered and if i wanted fights I had to take the risk and I couldn't be arsed to mine or spent hours NPC'ing or to join a big corp.

Once you get the adreneline of a proper small scale fight and not this 40+ vs 40+ target calling or POS bullshit you never want to go back.

Oh well, some insights from a former EVE player, excuse my rambling speech.

yep, the small scale fights are great. never played it for long (few months just, about half a year ago) but taking down some battlecruiser with a handful of little frigs was really really exciting.

checking agent standing with the enemy corp, finding the agent they were doing missions for, and hunting them down there was ace

oh and, lols at the huge bank scam. prolly the best thing that happened in a mmorpg in a while . hundreds of billions of isk scammed iirc, megadrama

yer because its so damaging to allow people in the RVR forum to express opinions on who they respect and enjoy fighting in RVR... cant have this sort of chaos on the forum must close it! Im sure we have had similar thread in the past! (which would merit 99% of threads being closed)
