Best gaming rig?

I have a few components home and i dont know if i should put in the other stuff instead of what i have.

The comp i have is:

P4 2.8Ghz, 2 gig RAM, ATI x1650 XT

The spare parts i could put in would be a motherboard with a AMD 4600+ CPU.
The problem is that the motherboard only have 2 ram slots so i would be down to:


AMD 4600+, 1 gig RAM, ATI x1650 XT

Which of these would perform best in games? Or would it be worth buying 2 new 1gig RAM sticks?

I'd grab a pair of 2gb sticks - only 40 quid, then go with the 4600+.

I echo that, the X2's are surprisingly good tbh. I'm running my computer on a 5000+ and I've yet to run into any performance issues running max gfx.
