Think we need another one of these! Please suggest which one you'd go for with todays offers, stability, cc, availability etc. Reasons for choice please!

I was reading something on BBC and they mentioned an ISP that is tailored to Gamers :eek7: PlusNet it's called, never heard of it myself anyone else got a cluepon? PlusNet *|* Home & Business Broadband Internet Access & Phone Services UK (whats with the cock emote PlusNet?!)

bethere are hard to get as they dont have much coverage. However iirc they utilise ADSL2 meaning uber download speeds.

claranet

if it goes down, i get straight on the phone to a UK call centre who tells me exactly what the problem is, and its generally up again in 5 mins, unless BT are doing works. which sux dongus.

claranet dont do high speeds, but they are rly good for stability & customer service. i run 2meg atm ;d

Plusnet are poor these days sadly. I am with Aquiss and love the service I get from them, just hoping the 24mb rollout early next year goes well.

Eclipse.

Very competant technical staff - none of that going through the checklist shite when need to talk to them.

To be honest though regards connectivity and stability its down to the local loop which is still all under BT. The effectivity of your service is just down to how hard your ISP is prepared to kick BT's arse into gear to resolve problems.

Clara went to an outsourced far east helpdesk - thats why I stopped using them and moved - good news that they have moved back.

Was just looking at bethere and a couple of the others as I'm in dire need to change ISP now really :p

"£18 monthly
£24 connection fee"

is the connection fee a one-time payment?

Oh and for the record, I'm with (Pipex?) Homecall, do NOT go with them :D

yes it is, i suggest you get the 8mb package to see how fast your line syncs, if you are maxing out 8 then consider being put onto the up to 24 :) otherwise you are paying extra for nothing

I was on Pipex Max and D/Ling at 200Kps, moved to sky and it's jumped to 400Kps. Paying lots of cash less per month for the privilege too. :)

I'm stuck with Karoo :mad::mad::mad:

Unsurprisingly that DSL ZoneUK site rates them as the worst in the country......

strangled download speeds and crap connection for online gaming until after 8.30pm really. (Ive stopped even trying to play PES2008 during the day, lost sooo many games from random dropouts :flame:)

I wanted to go to SKY from BT but they said they had run out of Mid and Max paxkages in my aerea so i could only have 2mb and 2gb a month :) had to say no. I might look a Deamon now we use them in work and uptime is good but they are a arse when something is wrong.

I've been on ntl for about 6yrs and they've always been good, still got the original router thingy as well and seems to work fine still, they even keep upgrading us for free, think its 8mb atm and get pretty decent download speeds (500kbps+ depending on source)

but I thought ntl had a fairly bad rep, weird stuff

Anyone had a look at UKFSN? They got good ratings on dsl zone, seem quite nice deals aswell. UK Free Software Network

Also, with Eclipse as a gamer would I want to go for the Evolution Broadband option? And also theres 4 different options, anyone with them now? What ones best as I'm a bit confuddled.
