Oooooh oddly enough my favourite christmas movie is on bbc1 tonight, that being Scrooged with Bill Murray, it's on really late though I don't know why they put it on so late it's a great and very funny movie.

Just did an IMDB search for 'Christmas' movies - it's not a very inspiring list, so I'm going for "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence", although it's not particularly Christmas-y.

More in the spirit, the original Miracle on 34th Street is a also pretty good movie.

'It's a wonderful life' with James Stewart is a firm favourite at Chez SoWat.

I concur. Wonderful film, not too long, and a timeless message that will make anybody smile.

Its funny though, on tv, when someone is about to put 6 inches of cold blue steel down their throat, that film is always on their TV!

Yep "Its a Wonderful Life" does it for me too, followed by "Miracle on 34th Street"

Isn't 'forgetting to remember' something essentially the same as forgetting something? :)

A Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street for me also although A Christmas Carol / Scrooged and not Christmassy but Peter Pan - the Disney cartoon (my dad used to get me up on Christmas Eve to watch this).

Its a wonderful life. Last 5 minutes is a killer though.

The Great Escape, the last five minutes is a killer, at least for Steve McQueen.
