before we start, piss water like budweiser and fosters do not count as beer. john smiths can probably fuck off while were at it, too.

the two i always go back to are old speckled hen and spitfire. tough choice between the two to be fair. can usually be had for £1 - £1.20 a bottle too.

as for bottle conditioned, londons pride is the daddy.

I like spitfire out of the two you mentioned.

My current favourite has to be Coniston Bluebird though. Its even nicer from the pump at the Black Bull though :)

lord,
where to begin..or end.

ok, as you lot think what monster will olga now show us, I instead give you this:
it's not a big gun by any mesure, it's just nice and drinkable,
and one of my favorits at the dinner table atm.

it's hard to define, it's not a simple blonde, it's not just a pale ale, and not really a saison either, it's abit of all of the above and then again not.

Real ale should only be served from a hand pulled cask into a pint glass. That is all.

but bottle conditioned is pretty much the same as having it from a cask :p

- Carlsberg

It's bin a whiled since i hade a real ale. Used to be my favourite kind of beer, but as i got older my taste changed for some reason! Will dig up what ale i used to like.

carlsberg ?

/slaps tuthmes!

infidel!

Haha :D, I know!

I actually do like it, but perhaps it has something todo with the fact I always choose it when i'm abroad when there are no real beers to choose from and I really can't stand Heineken!

Carlsberg can be ok, if it's at that "magical perfect tempreture" not too warm not too cold..and your thirsty..it'll do the job just fine.
export carlsberg is hopeless though

Hopback Summer Lightning

Worthington White Shield

Titanic Stout
Camra's bottled Beer of 2009. If you drink Guinness you should give this a try, it's far superior.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (they do a nice Porter too)
Anchor Steam Beer (and Liberty Ale)
Proof of how good American beers can be.

I dont know what it was, but I had this guest ale once and fuck me it was orgasmic. Was quite cloudy but jesus, it went down nice. Supped 6 pints of it in an hour it was that nice.

Sorry I cant recall the name though :(

If I ever go for bottled Lager, it's always either San Miguel, Stella or Budweiser.

Couldn't pick a favourite. Bit partial to Old Speckled Hen. Any of the Shepherd Neame, Faversham, Kent stuff is really good and I'd be hard pressed to pick one of that I prefer from what I've tried (or remember trying ;) )

One of the things I like about Hen is when getting a 4-pack or so at least it comes in proper sized bottles rather than paying through the nose for something the size of a test tube.
