I am a big Timothy Dalton fan, his portayal was the closest of all to the original concept of James Bond. Dark, intense and brutal when needed. The only other Bond who has pulled that off so far as been Sean Connery in the first couple of Bond films, after that he became too 'slick' and that trend continued into the Roger Moore films. Dalton was a return to classic Bond, sadly the box office returns weren't great so they got rid of him. Peirce Brosnan was ok for his first two Bond films, after that it became a joke.

Hopefully the new guy is a return to the old Bond from the original book who was more of an assasin/spy hybrid than super slick secret agent that the Broccoli's turned him into. All that said though I always found Len Deighton's 'Harry Palmer' to be a much more believeable and thought provoking take on the whole genre. New films based on that character could be fucking awesome.

I have to agree on your view of Timothy Dalton. However, Sean is by far my favorite. I really like him as an actor all together. Loved him in movies like "The Rock" as well. Bad ass guy, and still slick as a can of oil.

The only thing about Sean Connery is his inability to lose or even vary his accent in any of his acting roles. Don't get me wrong. He's a fabulously stylish and talented actor, but his voice isn't particularly versitile (unlike, say, Mel Gibson)

OT, but Alan Rickman is a fantastic actor. Great in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, and ofc Harry Potter

Historically some of the Great Britain's finest intelligence minds have been either Scots, Welsh or Irish. It is kind of funny in a way. From time to time you hear Scots slagging off England or the Union and yet as soon as this country is threatened they are amongst the first to stand up to the plate to protect the nation. We are a country of contradiction and irony in so many ways.

Brosnan could take all the other "bonds" with ease

Hmm, he is the third best after Connery and Moore :)

Have to admit, Goldeneye was my favourite Bond movie though, it was the most real to life movie!

Corrupt Russians, big kickass uberweapon(hell, i dont think even Nasa knows what the USSR sent up there), a geeky hacker:)D stole the show imo!) double agents.

Oh and a bint that crushes you to death with ehr thighs(reminds me of Ezteq!)

Scotland is generally cold but I wouldn't call it crap. Ok some parts of Glasgow mebbe but still :) It is actually a great place to visit, some stunning countryside and historical sites. Just a shame you get some Scots who are very abrupt when the hear an English accent because otherwise I am sure everyone would want to visit the place.

tempted to say Sean Connery, but ended up voting Tim Dalton.
He looks and acts like a real agent, gave bond a real good edge... but thats 'cos the film needed something like that.

Worst = Pearce Brosnan... was just awful at Bond...

LOL the funniest things based purely on a whim thought with not a single piece of research

Us scots are very proud and traditional we still feel pride in things that happened 100 years ago and tend to be quicker to defend honours and such things

Some of the greatest soldiers were Scots, darn gosh even the SAS was created by a Jock

Back on Topic; Sean Connery was my fave
