Right, when we get the mortgage money, #2 on the list (after the house natch) is a decent flat screen, as this CRT I have is 9 years old. Despite this though it still works perfectly.

I want a bloody good LCD screen, 19" for around £250 max.

Ideas?

TIA :)

What's the image rescaling like on it?

My LCD in work is fairly good at it - just worried that games run outside of the Viewsonic's native res (1280*1024) will look cack :/

I accidentally ran CS in 1024, looked alright. Infact it looked like a 1024 res on a 19" screen - so blocky but not so bad.

Infact, in my relatively low experience - it's the best rescaling I've seen on a tft.

For £370 you can get the new 20" dell widescreen job on ebay.

Nowt better then these dell widescreens.

£370 is a bit much to spend on a monitor tbh, esp as v good monitors are a lot cheaper than that.

For the difference between the dell and the viewsonic, I could get my motherboard and a good bit towards a new gfx card.

According to that the image rescaling is a bit poo. :(

Pity, it was looking promising otherwise: I'm comfortable running most games in 1024*768, as beyond that most games UI's tend to get tiny, whereas I like a good hi-res display in 'Doze.

Went for this one in the end. 20" widescreen Viewsonic, from Misco, and it should be here next Saturday (8th at my request, so I can be in to get it).

Reason I went for the widescreen rather than the same-priced VX922, is mainly for photoshop & painter work, as well as DVDs and games.

Plus widescreen is just lovely tbh.

:)

Thanks for the help guys! I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives. :)

It's here, and it's lovely :D

It's fucking HUGE compared to my old one, same height (maybe a wee bit bigger) but it's a hell of a lot wider which is great in PS and Painter.

WoW looks great at that res too \o/

All in all so far a solid purchase - and I'll be using Misco again I think.
