well basicly you want to deal as much damage as possible.

having the choice of hitting with either crush or slash makes you do more damage. You dont want to hit for 200(-200) on bms with ur axe instead of 300(-100) with hammer.

I suppose it depends on the situation. I personally use dual axe spec, fair enough i know what your saying but really there are only 2 toons resistant to slash (for grp rvr), bm's and bards, so these give you alot of resist whereas all albs are neutral and the hib grp chars are vulnerable, so no resist or '+' damage.
