last day of transfers, i love it :p

fucking hilarious, apparently tottenham have just agreed a deal with man city and he's on his way to meet Hughes now. People at redcafe forums are going mental :p

Looks less likely that chelsea will sign robinho now, bit annoying that we sold so many attacking players without finding any replacements, we could have some problems if we're unlucky with injuries.

The biggest news of the day to me, is the possible take over of man City by a consortium who between them, have ten times as much money than Abramovich!! Good news if you are a city fan!

Would be so funny to see him go to City not Utd after all Man Utd's poncing about trying to sign him.

Utd have just been delaying to force Tottenham to drop the price as the deadline looms, will laugh if that blows up in their face.

Funny how their attitude to transfers is different.

They go off on one when Real Madrid suggest they may want to try and sign Ronaldo, but think nothing of talking to players they want to sign without first getting permission.

Very interesting media game spurs are playing. Yes spurs. I really do not believe that Man U are talking to Berba without permission. If you look at all the articles on sports sites then Man City are the only club claiming they have agreed terms with spurs. Spurs have not come out and confirmed this or denied it. This way Utd look bad, Levy gets to hold on to his opinion publicly and still manage to sell the player to the club he wants to sign for.

can't believe the asking price, Berbs £30+ where robinho is £26'ish.

Robinhos goal scoring record is hardly amazing. Berbatov is tried and tested in this league also.

Robinho isn't renouned for his goalscoring though, he's not a centre forward.

Robinho to City wtf? £32.5m fee agreed.

I still think Chelsea will outbid them!

I can't beleive how spineless Spurs are. Seems they are not going to report Man Utd for illegally contacting Berbatov yesterday and so it seems Sir Alex really can do as he wishes. He must think he is above the law.

He did not contact him illegally. Do you really think that is the case. There is no statement from spurs to say that is what happened, infact they did not make any statement till the transfer was done. Only Man City made any statement, and it was they that said they were the only bidder.

Skysports last night was quite funny, lots of angry idiots phoning in saying the same, and sam allardyce laughing at them.

And as for spineless, Benitez did worse in tapping up Keane, and you let that slide really quickly.

According to the news on Radio 1 part of the deal to sell Berb was Spurs drop thier case about Man U tapping him up do not know how true or false it is.

Yes, spurs drop their current complaint against Utd. A complaint that the FA was waiting for further evidence from Spurs for, which spurs failed to provide. Nothing to do with the player talking to Utd yesterday. It really shocks me how stupid and guillable the majority of footy fans seem to be.

Really the posturing by Levy was hilarious, but if it makes him seem a hero in spurs fans eyes then I suppose he got his wish.

Spurs didn't give permission for Berbatov to speak to Man U.

Spurs didn't give permission for Berbatov to speak to Man U.

and tell me, where have you received official confirmation that spurs didnt give permission?- because i not seen anywhere in which spurs have officially stated that - had all the usual "a source has said levi" and "someone close to levi has stated" etc, but no where has a spurs representitive stated this officially. It the usual media shite (such as ronaldo had a million talks with madrid without permision etc)

Oh by the way, the actually rules are vague as well... as far as i remember, the phrasing is "If you want to make an approach for a player you have to notify their club that you intend to do so".

iirc, no where in the rule it stipulates the club has to agree to let you speak to them.. it one them loops that needs sorting and broke down the Ronaldo complaint.
