While I do not rate Bent, I think Capello's selection policy gets the best out of England's players. He gives them hope and encouragement when they are playing well and there is not shoe in choice for selection. The squad looks happier and is playing better than it has for many a year, so I am not going to question Capello's thinking, the man clearly knows more about football than those that have come before him.
He's not our hope up front, but he is an option, and unlike owen, an option who is fit and has played football recently.Capello picks on form, and Heskey and Cole and Crouch are all options before Bent. Only injuries put Bent into the limelight.
Bent's shit. Waste of (fuckloads of) money for Tottingham.
Crouch gets goals, as does Cole. Heskey's a donkey who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo - but creates so much space for everybody else it's untrue.
Michael Owen, one game back from a 10 month layoff, is more dangerous than all of them.
I'm not sure about Gerrard and Rooney in behind Crouch. Seems like Capello's turning one problem into another one: Can't play Gerrard and Lampard in midfield? Whack Gerrard in as second striker! Oh, Rooney plays there. Whack him up front? What about Crouch up front and two second strikers?
