Lo guys, just a intresting question.

Has anyone ever experienced a power adaptor failing on a router? This evening all the lights on my router went out, and naturally I assumed the router had died. However, I did the usual checks.. diffrent power socket, etc etc until I plugged an old power adaptor in, and voilla.. it worked. So now at the moment its running off an old Iomega 100 power adaptor which is rated at a output of 5v.. the router say's it takes 12v.

So the two main questions I have are..

How safe/long can I run the router off the 5v supply?
Any idea's where I can get a replacement one from apart from ordering one streight from belkin themselves?

Cheers guys.

You can get adapters from places like Maplin that will do a range of voltages with a handy switch. I don't know what damage may or may not occur from using the wrong voltage...
