They're blatantly using their weight as an excuse to continue scrounging. It states clearly in the article that they eat more calories than they need each day.

I was prepared to give them the benefit (ha!) of the doubt until I read that she gets £330 a month for "epilepsy and asthma". Since when has your body weight had ANY bearing on epilepsy? Asthma, fair enough. The article does a good job of making them out to be lazy fuckers.

I weigh 21.5st and have no problems working. Even if I had a disabling condition, I'd want to continue earning a wage. It's a self-esteem thing.

I'm asthmatic and correct me if i'm wrong but its a chronic bronchial disorder in which inflammation occurs through the tubes going into your lungs, from various reasons restricting oxygen flow.. so surely if you're just to fat to breathe thats different rather than an actual disorder causing symptoms to swell the tubes.

Any anyway that aside, loads of people live on £22,000. For many thats quite a lot, it can afford a mortgage food etc. Fucking lay off a megabucket every 3 hours or family sized meals equivilent for one and lose some weight.

If you google asthma obesity and ignore the newspaper links, you'll find a number of medical journals that seem to show there is *some* link between asthma hypersensitivity and body weight.

lol so true, a student that doesn't have time don't make me laugh. I do a pretty time consuming course but i always have spare time still I don't mind the fat ppl that admit they're fat because they eat, its the fatties that make up the worst excuses that i hate

Well having just dropped my BMI from 29 to 25 (approx. 2 stone in total) in the space of two months i have no sympathy as I was saying to one of my freshers at climbing the other day there is no such thing as no time, just poor planning.

(re: the epilepsy, I suppose depanding on how bad it is it may prohibit her/him from taking part in some exercises but losing weight is 70% diet anyway).

Im not overly fond of fat people, but their life do what they want. It's just when people complain about being fat with an excuse attached such as genetics... that isnt genetics... they arnt exercising, they're eating shit, and they're eating 3000 calories a day. They're blatently not nutrionists or doctors so how could they even tell that it was genetic even if it were possible to discover a 'fat gene' dont know if that is possible? And another thing that takes the biscuit is how they eat themselves to a disability and claim benefits off hard working people and people that actually NEED benefits meaning they get less seeing as i think it was 75% of all NHS patients all treated for illness/disease caused by bad diet/lack of exercise and things like actually contracting type 2 diabetes as don't eat properly.
