if the person selling the booze believes your intoxicated they are either obliged or can choose not to serve.

though i thought they were obliged not to serve.

One law which people are so oblivious about that it's almost ridicilous is the one drink rule.

You should not sell more then one drink(ever) to any person at one time. They want more? Go to table and come back.
